Princess Oceana - Michelle Perkett

Hi everyone

This is my first  inspiration card as new DT for Creative Card Crew.  It's great huh!.. The challenge over there this week is On the beach / Under the sea and the sponsor is the fantastic Michelle Perkett and the winner will recieve a $10.00 gift voucher.  Theres some great news too...Michelle will be producing her images in rubber soon over at Sparkle n Sprinkle.  Anyway back to my creation.

I used Princess Oceana from Michelles Mermaid collection.  I coloured her up using my copics and prisma pencils.  It took an age to do her hair but loved every minute of it.  I did not want to smother this card in embellishments as I feel there is enough beauty in the image itself.  I used Tim Holtz alphabet dies for the wording, cordinations for the background which I distressed slightly and vintage photo distress ink lightly round the edges. Oceana's eyes and lips, bubbles and the wording got a good ol lavishing of glossy accents.

And now for the pics......

Well I think that is about it from me at the moment but before I go please pop over to our challenge this week and join in the fun.  You have to be init to winit!!!

1909 Bride - Nettie G

Good afternoon

Here I am again with another finished project.  I have been chomping at the bit to colour this beautiful bride by Nettie G. She is stunning, well that is my opinion anyway.  I used prisma pencils to colour her. I then used my crackle stamp using scattered straw distress ink.  I then wiped vintage photo round the edges.  I have used gold glamour dust very sparingly on parts of her dress but unfortunately the photo is not bringing it out.  I used my favourite meshy spidery lace on the background of coredinations also scrunched distressed and sanded.  The bow is also my mesh.  This card was quite simple but I love it.  Hope you do too!

I may be back later.. who knows!

Mini Album

Happy Sunday everyone

Today I am posting a mini album I have been working on, on and off, for a few weeks.  I took it to work a couple of weeks ago with only the first couple of pages complete and a colleague wants to buy it for her daughter.  Her daughter is not a girly girl for fussy sweet things so kept this to a minimum where embellishments are concerned.  I am really pleased with the result.  I even made the book from scratch so really chuffed with first attempt.  Me thinks I will embarking on more of these, well I know I will as my collegue would like some more for xmas prezzies.  Anyway I am just going to post the pics on this one as far too much to describe but then again it speaks for itself... well I hope it does LOL

Thats it for me right now.  I do have another creation on the go but it is not as mammoth as this LOL.

Ascension Embossing

Well it is that time of the week again for another fabulous OUTLAWZ Challenge.  This week it is to use  household packaging on a project and I have used this in the broad sense of the term.  I use duct tape around the house and find it has a multitude of uses such as wrapping it around my tummy so I reduce 2 dress sizes....NO only joking so do not try it for yourself LOL.

The recipe for this one is once again quite simple.  I covered card with duct tape and the embossed it with the ascension embossing folder. I then painted over it with acrylic paint and wiped it off to give aged effect. I also embossed black card with said folder.  I then cut out the shapes and stuck them using foam pads onto the balck card.  I placed the black card onto some glitter card to give it a lift..... get it hot air balloon - LIFT!  Never mind just ignore me!

I had seen this technique on the net somewhere and for the life of cannot remember where but if it comes to me I will update this post.  I did not use a sentiment for this one so that it can be used for a male for any occasion.

Anyway I hope you like this post and please feel free to leave some love if you have any to spare LOL

Why don't you pop over to Paper Ala Mode at Outlawz and join in the challenges... see you there....

Sassy Xmas Gal - Bugaboo

Hey everyone

The challenge over at Poodles Parlour this week is Anything Goes and the sponsor is Bugaboo.  I used the digi called Sassy Xmas gal.. well I thought I best start on the Chrissy cards lol. Only another 49 to go lol.

Anyway I coloured the image using promarkers and prisma pencils.  I used an icicle embossing folder on white and silver card.  I sprinkles gold and asilver embossing powder over the white embossed card and randomly on the silver card. The sentiment was a rubber stamp in my stash.  The image and sentiment has also been edged using gold embossing powder.  The poinsetta, holly berries and leaves also had the embossing powder treatment and then smothered in glossy accents.

Hi everyone

I am sitting here watching the opening ceremony for us hosting the Olympics.  I do not watch any sport as it is not my bag but we have done it proud with all the work having gone into the ceremony.  Loved the take on the Industrial Revolution and hasn't Brunel aged well. I have to say so far the highlight for me is Daniel Craig... OMG he is gorgeous love him!  We are wonderfully talented hosts and the production of the ceremony is out of this world.  Well done Britain!

I am loving this so catch up again real soon.  I have been working on a project for the last week or so and when finished will be posted up.  I am also working on a new blog... ye ye ye I am going to be starting my own challenge blog.....Will keep you posted on that as it also a work in progress.  I do have my Design Team Leader on board already... so moving onwards and upwards so they say LOL

Catch you all soon

Just Inklined - Magnolia

Hi all

Just another quick post with another card I made last night purely for pleasure.  I have not coloured up a flower for ages and felt that overwhelming need to last night.  I have been busy doing challenge inspiration cards all of which are scheduled ( they will make me look as though I have had a busy couple of days LOL)

This image is from Just Inklined and I used prisma pencils to colour it up.  I then used my crackle stamp using brown memento ink and clear embossing powder. If you look closely you will see that most of it has been crackled up LOL. I just love the effect.  I used alot of mesh which has distress ink treatment although very subtle. The butterfly die is from Memory box.  The cardstock is all cordinations.  I love these blues.  The edges of the cardstock are distressed.

Anyway that is it for today... perhaps!

Have a good day all of you......

Gingerloft Chellenge - Silhouette

Hello all you lovely people in blogland

First of all I would like to thank everyone who stumbles across my blog and hovers for a while.  For that I am eternally grateful.  AND as for those who FOLLOW me I will love you forever LOL.

Anyway down to the reason I am posting right now......

I am a new DT over at Gingerloft and this is my first DT inspiration project... YAYYYYYY!!!!!!

I used the London Photo digi stamp by Gingerloft for this weeks challenge of Silhouettes.

Silhouettes are a new experience for me so here goes it lol.

I highlighted Big Ben using black enamel accents.  For the clock face I used   ''Time'' stamp from Creative Expressions. I then cut it out and attached it to Big Ben using a foam pad over the original clock face in the photo.  I then used clear crackle accents on the face as you can see.  I just love that effect.  I used a clock face embossing folder for the black and white backgrounds.  I used Tim Holtz clock face die, cut it in half and placed them either side of Big Ben and arranged the hands to the same time as clock face.  These were also coated in enamel.  I sponged a little grey ink around the edges of the base card to take away the starkness of the white.  The sentiment came from the same stamp set.  I do hope you like this.

Why don't you head on over to Gingerloft and join in with this fun challenge... If you not in it, you can't win it!!! Always worth a go huh!

Mother Mary - Delicious Doodles

Hi all

Its that time of the week again where Paper Ala Mode starts this weeks new challenge of Christmas in July.  Brilliant I thought as I have now managed to make one Christmas card.. well it is a start huh LOL.  I fell in love with this image over at Delicious Doodles.  I'm usually buying the vampire ones... which reminds me.. I have not made a Goth card for ages and may need to remedy that.

Anyway  I coloured this beauty using prisma pencils and used varnish to give it a bit of umpppphhhhh! LOL

Well that was a quick description huh.  That is what I like about a simple card.  To be honest I think the picture says it all and I think embellishments and sentiments would spoil it.  My opinion of course.  Can you tell I am waffling here just because there wasn't much to say about the makings of this creation ;-))

Enough babbling I say.  Here are the many pics of different angles!  Well I couldn't just post one pic now.. I would have withdrawal!

Well thats it for me right now... onwards and upwards to prepare for the next challenge.  Why don't you pop over to the Outlawz and joinin with the fun.  You can get to their site through the pages tab at the top of my blog page so it is only one click away from having FUN!  And there are links all over this post if you hadn't already noticed LOL.

Right I am off

Catch you all later and loves ya all

Touch

Hi all

Today I have made a card purely off my own back with no theme to follow.  The reason I have had time to do this is due to the fact a day off  from work as I have workmen in the house for repairs.  So I treated myself to me time with the sound of drills etc LOL.  I have achieved this and am a little pleased with myself.

I found this image over @ Digital Two for Tuesday, a site I stumbled across last night whilst continually searching for ideas and inspiration.  I love it.  Anythis image is called Touch and I fell in love with it.  I coloured it with promarkers and pencils.  The frame is by Cheery Lynn.  I painted that with white acrylic thinly so the colour of the card would show through a little.  I then wiped vintage photo distress ink over it.  I wrapped a brown vine ribbon round it to give it a lift. I used that ink along with forest moss over most of the card and embellishments.  The tags are by Tim Holtz dies and the script with the hand writing is by La Pashe.  The muslin got the ink treatment also as did the wooden buttons.  I threaded twine and tied the buttons.  The ribbon I cut out from meshing in my stash.  The flower I made myself from some frilly trimming and used that really handy distress ink again and added some more of the vine ribbon.  Think I may need to replenish soon LOL

This has been featured on Digital Two for Tuesday

Well I hope you like the end result and please feel free to comment if you so wish to.

Kenny K - Alice Chains

Hey everyone

The card I have for you today is Kenny K's Alice Chains.  I have made this as inspiration for Creative Card Crew as an unofficial DT.  My actual term of DT does not start officially until the next challenge but thought I would do this for fun.  The challenge over there this week is Use Black cardstock and is sponsored by Kenny K.

I have coloured her using copics and pencils.  I added milled lavender distress ink round the image as a smokey haze effect. I added mini crystals for her bodice and necklaces and used glossy accents for her eyes and lips.  In her hand she is conveniently holding a padlock and key charm which I found in my stash.  Quite appropriate I thought.  I tied a bow using lace and wrapped chain around the centre. I used Tim Holtz alphabet die for the words come play with me arranged either side of the 2 chains twisted together annd fastened with brads.

Well thats if for me for now...

Arctic Fox - Teresa Sherman - Challenge time again Paper Ala Mode @ The Outlawz - NATURE themed

Hi everyone

Over at  Outlawz, Paper Ala Mode,  the challenge this week is Inspired by Nature, no people allowed. So off I went and bought myself this gorgeous digi from Delicious Doodles(Teri Sherman), The Arctic Fox.  I fell in love immediately.  I did think initially of using my poppy images but I wanted to try my hand at working with an animals fur.  Well let me tell ya... I found it challenging! LOL.  I used 4 different grey prisma pencils to achieve the fur. (cannot remember the numbers sorry!)

I know the Arctic Fox is white but you need shadows right.. and what if he is a little grey... it might have been dark at the time right ? LOL.  Initially I was going to put a card together in crisp white and silver and it was going to be clean and simple.  That did not last long I am afraid.

After I finished colouring the image I sprayed it with spray and shine and deliberately put my pudsey paws all over it.   I dont know why just felt like it at the time. (I really needn't have bothered with colouring the fur so meticulously lol ) I then wiped scattered straw, vintage photo and moss distress inks over it.  I was trying to make it look like an old photo. I should have screwed it up a bit but I couldn't do it to the cute lil fella.  I couldn't use my crackle stamp on him either lol. I used whimsy die corners and embossed with crackle embossing powder, rubbed when dry and then smeared gold leaf over them.  I used odd screw brads to fix to the card.  I used the distress inks on the base of white card to blend with the image.  The sentiment I produced on my computer.  Now for the overload of pics.....

Thats it from me for now.  Why don't you pop over to the OUTLAWZ , Paper Ala Mode Challenge, and join in the fun.....We would love to see you

Bon Voyage - Gingerloft

A couple of weeks ago I won top 3 over at Gingerloft and was asked to be Guest Designer for this weeks challenge of Fancy Folds.  I chose this image from Gingerlofts extensive range of images,  Bon Voyage so therefore the subject matter would have be all about travel. I used a template to make the trifold base.  I coloured the image using promarkers and prisma pencils.  I used Tim Holtz Distress ink for the backgound, Aged mahogany, moss and scattered straw.  I also used the scattered straw around the torn edges of the matting.  I used Kaisercrafts postage stamp and another stamp set I have with a Journey timetable on it.  I also used a crackle stamp over the image using once again Scattered Straw.  I enjoyed making something different and it was a real pleasure to create.

Anyway thats it from me today and why don't you pop over to Gingerlofts challenge and have some fun.

Gift Bag

Hello everyone

The challenge over @ Paper ala Mode at The Outlawz is make a birthday gift bad and here is my DT inspiration for that challenge.  This is a really fun challenge so go get yourselves over there and join in the fun. I used 2 A3 pieces of black card and joined them length ways.  I then found a suitable sized box and laid it onto the card.  I wrapped the card round the box as if I were wrapping a gift just to make the bottom of the bag really neat.  I then stuck the bottom down securely using double sided tape. I left the box where it was until I finished covering the front and back with large grey marabou feathers and the sides with black ostrich feathers.  Let me tell you I have been breathing in feathers since lol.  I made tyhe flowers from Tim Holtz die and did not distress or make them fussy as I think it would have been far too much with the feathers.  The ribbon for the handles came from my stash.  I will be using this bag for sure.  My daughter loves divaish items lol.  Will have to make a diva card to match.

Anyway thats all from me at the moment.  This really was a short post eh and I can't even say the inside compliments the front... ;-)))

PS the inside compliments the front lol!.
