New Challenge For RCS *

April - does that mean even more showers lol.  I think we have had more than our fair share of those and winds.

It is time for our new challenge over at Rhedd's Creative Spirit and as you know every month is Anything goes as long as it is Mixed media, altered etc so NO CARDS please.  Anyway I have put together a mixed media canvas.  I used the back side of a canvas for the framed effect.  I painted, wiped off sprayed allsorts of sprays and micas over it until I was finally pleased with it.  I pulled back the edges of the canvas and tore it in some areas.  I wiped turquoise inka gold round the edge of the canvas.

A colleague at work gave me her used up perfume bottle so I gave it a lick of paint and covered it using red, orange, purple, blue and green alcohol inks... Out came my old bits of jewelry and found the perfect piece for the bottle - an old pendant with a tassle.  I wiped inka gold over the edge before adding to the bottle.  I also used an owl pendant for the top left of the canvas.  I used a green alcohol ink for him and edged with the inka gold.  For the twigs and the flowers they once were part of a cheap bunch from the pound shop.  The poppies were too vibrant so I dulled them down with more sprays lol.

Voila all finished.

I do hope you join us over at Rhedd's this month.

Altered Jar - Altered Eclectics *

April Fools day to you all lol.  'Pinch punch first day of the month''  where on earth did that expression come from hmmm will google it!

For the challenge this month over at Altered Eclectics I have altered an Olive jar using muslin soaked in sculpting medium by Prima.  First of all I used plaster strips to give the jar some tooth before laying the muslin. I cast some face molds with plaster and draped cotton lace to frame it. I painted everything black and used pink and turquoise dylusion sprays.  I used turquoise inka gold over the muslin areas and gold inka on the face. Why not head on over to Altered Eclectics and join in with the fun challenge - we would love to see you all

All done and now for the pics
