Crafty-emblies

I have just been on my regular rounds and noticed that Crafty-emblies are having a design team call and I have decided to apply. It took me all of 2 seconds to think about the opportunity and I am so excited about it. In order to apply it is required to showcase three of my favourite projects to the Crafty-emblies design team who then decides on the new team member.  I like the idea that the team decides on who will become their new playmate so here goes.

This tag was created using Crafty-emblies cogs, word placket and pocket watch face amongst other embellishments - I think it is known as sucking up by showing off their products lol..... who cares I need to stand a chance don't I?

Next up is another super duper huge sucking up - yet another tag using Crafty-emblies products.  This time their dress forms and scissors and real cute they are too.

And finally I am going to showcase another project but this time no sucking up.  I am actually finding it quite difficult in choosing the final project as I have a few favourite projects. Decisions, decisions.... hmmmmm okay here goes..... I have chosen this frame, which I made out of lolly sticks.  I also altered the once pretty flowers in their former life! The other projects ie the tin foil boxes, chests and altered matchboxes just could not accomodate the picture of my darling mummy and my darling doggy whereas this project embraces them, just as they deserve to be.

Well that is my showcasing completed.  Just have to cross my fingers, my arms and perhaps my legs for luck and hope that it won't be for too long as I will need to get to my craft room at some point and even maybe use the loo too lol.

There is always hope!

Hugz to everyone

PS Did I mention I am applying for a position on the Crafty-emblies Design Team ... okay I'll shut up now so you can get on with life!!!!!

These projects will not be entered into any challenges as they have already been challenged to the max lol!

Midnight Warrior - Sara Burrier....D

Hello one and all

Well here we are again with my submission for our 4th challenge over at ECLECTIC ELLAPU and the theme this week for the PINK team is CELEBRATION WITH SPARKLE hosted by our very own talented LAURIAN.

I have kept this card quite simple and I did not want to overdo it. There is so much sparkle on it and did not want to use any embellishments to detract from that.

I used Midnight Warrior  by the very talented Sara Burrier found over at Crafts and Me.  I coloured her using my prisma pencils (my old and trusty friends lol) and added copious amounts of glamour dust on her head dress and wings.  Well sparkle in the title kind of gave me some guidance lol.

The background photo I found on the internet.  I used more glamour dust to depict rays from the moon and am unsure whether this works or not... jury out on that one lol.  Well that's about it really except I enjoyed making this one.  I love the image.  Well here are the pics for you to yawn over lol......I apologise for the pics as the lighting does not show this to its full extent... looks far better in the flesh so to speak lol....

Anyway why not head on over to my challenge blog, ECLECTIC ELLAPU and join in with this fab challenge.  Well you need to see my DT's inspirational creations as they are fantabulous. as usual! Please feel free to leave them some love and hugz!

Another Xmas pressie - D

Happy Saturday to all of you

Today I was browsing  the net and came across a tutorial on how to make a mini photo frame using lolly sticks so I thought why not!

I painted the sticks brown, then crackle medium and beige on the top.  I used the beige on the flowers and used the pearl gems from my stash I assembled the lolly sticks as stated and voila.. the mini frame was created.

Not much else to state about this project except why not give it a go.

The photos show the frame empty, with a pic of my lovely mum holding my doggie, the back of frame and  not assembled.  My mum and my little doggie are now both in heaven and sorely missed.  Might end up leaving the pic in it and keeping the frame.

Challenge time again

Over at the Outlawz  is where it all happens.  New challenges every day of the week so busy, busy, busy!

The challenge for this week over at  Paper ala Mode is Anything Goes and I know this is every ones fave!  It sure is mine as I get to play with whatever project I like lol.

I received this new set of stamps today and I just love them.  They are by Katzelkraft.  I was unsure of what exactly I wanted to do with them at first and it came over me like a tidal wave - A collage.  So here it is.  The tag is chipboard. painted with texture in it.  Not that you can even see the first coat of paint now lol.  I used aged mahogany TH ink for the background.  I then stamped words over top, mystique, carnival, Venice, masquerade etc.  i then stamped the three main images onto tissue paper.  This is where it got a little messy.  I placed the images onto the tag using mod podge and just kept layering. You may be able to see a few of the words slightly visible through the faces.  I must apologise for the rubbish photos.  I my try to take some more tomorrow in the daylight. I cut out some tiny masks and used the mod podge and tissue treatment on those also.  I stuck tiny gems on and then used rub and buff over the top.

Anyway that's it from me tonight.  Go on over to Outlawz and join in with the challenges.  You know you want to lol.

Yes another tag!!!!!!

It is challenge time again over at Creative Card Crew and for this fortnight it is Anything goes and is being sponsored by Marianne Design. Here is the prize up for grabs for one lucky person.

Great prize huh!
I have made yet another tag and this time it is a haberdashery theme.  I quite enjoyed putting this together as I have had this TH stamp set for quite some time and it has not been out of the packet.  Naughty I know lol.

I used chipboard for the tag and I primed it then painted it in a buff colour.  I used rusty hinge and brushed corduroy TH distress ink.  I then flicked water over the tag and let it air dry.  I stamped the tape measure, stitching and the dress form for the background.  The wooden embellishments came from Crafty Emblies.  The scissor charm from my stash.  I cut the reels myself and wound cotton and fibre around them.  The buttons are from my stash as was the muslin which as you see I tried to make it look like a roll of fabric.  The words were computer generated.

Why not head on over to Creative Card Crew and join in the fun.

Another Xmas Present Completed

Well it is early morning hours again for me.... the craftroom held me hostage and only just allowed me out for coffee break.  Damn that room as it means I have to sit there and work away the hours lol.

I made this project using chipboard for the casing and card for the matchboxes.

I cant tell you the exact measurements because if I go back up to the ''room'' I will be sucked in again.  The matchboxes I know are 5cm w 7cm l x 3cm d . I put the 6 boxes together then laid them out on chipboard and cut the desired size for the base, middle and top.  I then measured out for the sides and back. I shaped the back and side pieces by drawing round a die I have and cut by hand.

I painted them using pale blue, used crackle medium and then cream on top. I laid rock candy over top the cream.  I cut out drawer fronts from the left over chipboard and painted them the same.  I used some large beads from an old necklace of mine for the drawer knobs and the feet. As you can see I attached pearls around the edges

I painted up some diecuts and placed them on the back and top.  I used flowers from my stash and painted them also.  I coated it all again in rock candy.  I made a tiny photo frame from a style stone.  I backed it with chipboard and made a little stand for it. This too had the paint and candy treatment.

The frame is for a photo of the recipient of this creation. Anyway here is pic overload.

Thanks for visiting me and I hope you like what you see and will drop by again sometime.

Steampunk tag

Good afternoon fellow creators

I wanted to do something other than a box today and guess what??? I ended up doing yet another tag.  I really need to get past them lol!

I wanted a steam punk theme.  I cut out some chipboard and painted it in cream acylic paintI then sponged over with brushed corduroy

I used a creative expressions stamp from the timekeeper set a well under used set which I forgot about lol.  I embossed some black card using a time embossing folder, painted in black acrylic and rubbed over with spanish gold and light gold to give metallic effect.  I used the same technique on cog die cut and wooden cogs.  I used a couple of TH game spinners for clock hands on one of the cogs.

At the top of the tag I used a wooden pocket watch and heavily layed down crackle accents on the face...The metal clock face came from my stash I made the other using a bottle top, cut out and epoxy.  the chain came from an old necklace.  oriinally this was silver but I roughed it up using spanish gold rub.  I layed this from the clocks and around the cogs.  The sentiment 'Inspire' is also wooden.

Thanks for taking the time to drop by today and I hope you will continue visiting.

Happy Weekend to all of you

PS I do have another project I am halfway through so maybe back later.

New Challenge at the OUTLAWZ

Yayyyyyy  it is fun time once again over at Paper Ala Mode, Outlawz and the challenge this week is EMBOSSING. I have chosen to make a larger type matchbox.  I covered it in burgundy and cream card.  On the base I embossed script onto the burgundy.

The image at the back is embossed and covered in rock candy to age it further.  I used spellbinders butterflies and flowers from my stash.  The lace flower in the box I made out of lace.

The inside of the drawer was painted with acrylic paints and crackled (not that it all that visible)

Well thats about it really.  Not much more to say which makes a change. LOL!

Now for the pics........

Why don't you head on over to the Outlawz and join in on the fun!
