Starting to make gifts again.......D

I went a little mad today. like you do, when you in a craft shop lol.  I bought 8 canvases and more paints.  So what could I do but to break open the plastic on the canvas and get messy.  I have many stamps that have never made light of day.  I decided on steampunk divas, beautiful set of stamps.

First of all I gessoed the canvas and the following layer was a mix of white and taupe acrylics.  I stamped the entire background with a clock collage stamp using coffee archival ink.  I stamped the images from the set onto tissue, seperating them by tearing and layered them onto the canvas.

Once dried I used a TH clock diecut as a mask and used texture paste mixed with a little brown acrylic to fill the gaps.  Does that make sense lol.  I pulled the mask away and dried it off a little.  I then spread crackle medium over the top to age it a little. I used the actual diecut, after having the same treatment, cut and placed on the canvas.  The hands of the diecut I triple embossed using black utee and wiped perfect pearls over the top.  I deliberately snapped one of the hands before sticking to the Crafty-Emblies pocket watch face which had the rock candy treatment.

I used a couple photo holders (forgotten their proper name lol) with timeless and search on them.  I created the sentiment using my thingymajigmachine!  - Use your time wisely to create yourself.

I used brushed cordurouy round the edge of canvas and brushed sporadically over the entire piece.  I then sprayed a golden mist over it.

Well I think thats it for now.... I do hope you like my effort tonight.  I certainly enjoyed making it.

Eclectics Challenge - D

Well well well

The time has really flown by and is challenge time again over at Eclectic Ellapu and this time it is hosted by Dawn.  The theme is

For this challenge I used a cheap black plastic frame as my weapon of choice.  It cost me £1 so it broke the bank lol.

I used white gesso to start with and then textured medium.  I then used black acrylic and once dried (as you do between every single layer lol) I applied some crackle medium.  I used gesso over top and watched it crackle.  I love that part of the process.

I then searched threw my stamps and decided to use the text from my masquerade set.  I just stamped randomly over the frame and all edges.  After I had completed it I then decided to stamp out the images and placed them inside the frame as you would photographs.  These images are so freaky I just love them.  (You can see one of them is crooked lol)

Once again I forgot to take the before pic but at least you can see the after lol.

I enjoyed putting this project together and I hope you like it also.

Bye for now and please drop by Eclectic Ellapu to join in the fun.... look forward to seeing you there.  You have to be innit to winnit!

Challenge over at Outlawz ......D

I have to apologise for being MIA from the Outlawz, Paper Ala Mode challenges recently but I found my time was eaten away by work and family stuff.  However I am BACK lol.

It is my turn to chose a theme and to make it easy for all it is once again

I decided to alter a mini chest and a canvas with my friend Paula's birthday in mind.

First off I used gesso.  I lay down a coat of pink paint and then cream mottled over that.  I stamped all over using script and crackle stamps.  I then stamped onto tissue paper using one of my new stamps, The ladys face from a TH collection. I reversed one so they would look as though they were looking at each other.

I laid a strip of lace over the top and dabbed aged mahogany DI through it.  Not really noticeable in the pics but it is there lol.  I then wiped brushed cordrouy round the edges to give it the vintage look.

I used a PHLAX alphabet made by Stampers anon and cut round her name and triple embossed the letters.  I wiped amethyst rub and buff round the edges.  The date and year was simply stamped on.

So there you go my inspiration for you guys and now I would like to see yours in the entries for ANYTHING GOES.

A Project Made Just Because.....D

Yayyyy this is the first time in a long time I have been able to make something just cos I wanted to lol.

I chose to alter an old frame which previously housed Winnie the Pooh!  I prepared the frame with gesso and crackled the black paint over top the white.  The insert had the same treatment.  I just wanted a slight crackle.  I dabbed  cordurouy over the top of the cracks.

I heat embossed ''Nevermore'' using Copper vintage embossing powder.  I stamped randomly using stamps from the stamp set for Poe and white brilliance ink over the crackled photo surround.  I then dabbed the distress ink over the wording.  I just love distress inks lol.

I was quite excited as I have had this set for a while and so wanted to play with it lol.

The photo I found on the net.  I resized and printed it onto photo paper.  I distressed the edges to give a little worn look.  I dabbed brushed cordurouy over the photo and then flicked water over it to give it the water damage effect.

I found the crow shaped NEVERMORE on the net also.  I triple embossed him to make him stand out a little.

I feel pleased with the finish and the fact I crafted just for me lol.

Thank you for visiting my world and do hope you come back and see me soon.

GDT Spot..... D

Recently I took part in a challenge over at Nicely Done Designs and was so excited when I was asked to be a Guest Designer for their current challenge of Show me the mini!  Basically it is anything goes as long as it is a mini album.

I was so tempted to make yet another tiny album with binder rings etc.  However I decided to make something cleaner and much more plain.  Believe me I find this style really hard lol.

My daughter has just given birth to twins and I had already decided to make her a couple of mini albums for her pics.  My daughter is not fussy or fancy and not into steampunk either lol.  So plain and simple it is then lol.

I used coredinations in 2 shades of blue and followed the You tube tutorial I found last night.  I thought I had bookmarked it but sorry I have not.

Once all the pieces were put together I randomly stamped to give it a little bit of character lol.  I used some substitute pics (ones where the quality wasn't up to standard) just to demonstrate what it would look like with pics in it.

Do you realise just how hard it was for me to resist temptation of distressing it and using inks and paints lol......

I do hope you have enjoyed your visit today.  Please call by again real soon and why not pop on over to Nicely Done Designs and perhaps join in with the fun.

1st Pink Teams Challenge in 2013-D

Well here we are in 2013 ... where has the time gone to.  I have no idea but what I do know is when I am home from work the time flies and yet at work it drags and feels like a 24hour day. LOL

It's time for another challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu and our hostess this time is Laurian, fabulous lady with huge talent. Laurian has chosen a RECIPE for the challenge theme.

For this challenge I decided to make a chic wedding card.

I used a digital image I bought quite a while back and forgot I had. The diecut hearts found their way onto the card layout.  I thought they were the perfect symbol of love for my project.

The backing papers were free from the internet.  I used glossy accents over the papers, image, hearts and sentiment.  The roses are from my stash.

I really enjoyed making this and I am sure I will find a use for it.  Some people still get married these days... don't they lol.

Why not drop on by Eclectic Ellapu's and join in the fun this week. We would love to see you there. Would also be fab to leave some love for the ever so talented design team.

Anyway that is it from me for today

Hugz and love to you all
