A few makes......................

Just thought I would share a couple of new makes I have managed inbetween work, challenge blog running and a treasure hunt on EE. Phewwww!

This week with the storm brought down a 50+ foot tree from a neighbours garden into mine taking out fences and would have made it into my house if it weren't for my plum tree which has much damage to it.  I have been suffering with absess in mouth and had 2 teeth out yesterday and my face is only just feeling relief from antibiotics.  Today my hoover blew ... lol.  But at least I finished another lil cardy for Lili-Mae (one of the twins) Oh and speaking of children here is a pic of my 4 youngest grandchildren.  I have 7 but the others would not have their pics taken lol. they were here at the weekend and are all under 10 months old.  They were better behaved than the 3 yr old, 4 yr old and 7 yr old lol

Harvey, Freya, Lili-Mae and Mason

My Christmas stars for the grandchildren

Cardy for Lili-Mae

Oh and some bits I have bought to alter - at some point lol
First pic is awful however like it cos it looks creepy lol

Well thats it for today

Get up lazy bones - D

Good evening all you lovely crafters

Over at Eclectic Ellapu we have the theme of Halloween and I have had so much fun with this one. One of my crafty loves are skellies and I have the opportunity to use them for this challenge.
I started out with 6x6 chipboard, an old box lid and stuck them together to make a ledge.  I cut a gravestone shape from chipboard also.  I screwed up loads of paper and randomly stuck it all over and then covered in modelling paste.  Threw a few seed beads over randomly (can't really see them though)  I dismembered one of my skellies  ;-(  and pressed parts into the mound I hade made.  I then positioned 2 more skellies trying to pull the lazy bones up out of his pit to come out and party!  A few other skulls scattered about help set the scene.  I stuck the leftover body parts to the headstone and a large jewelled cross was added from my stash.  I painted the words freehand as you can tell lol.

Now for copious amounts of pics cos I couldn't make up my mind on which ones to use lol SORRY.............

Hugz to you all and don't forget the treasure hunt is still in play over at Eclectic Ellapu

Just to share

Today I am sharing with you all a little cardigan and hat I made inbetween everything else for Lili-Mae, one of my grandchildren.  Thats it really lol.  Don't you just love short posts - I know I do lol.  I used Sirdar Baby Crofter, shade Pinkie.  The flower on the hat I crocheted making it up as I went along.

See you all again real soon.  I am finishing off another mixed media canvas and will be posting as soon as finished.

Flutterbys - D

Today I have altered the mirror effect butterflies. These remind me of the flying ducks on the Ogdens wall in Coronation Street but a much more modern version lol.

I covered them using serviettes I had bought on ebay.  I love them as so many different pictured styles.  Will be using more in the future thats for sure.  I adhered them using PVA and then let it all dry - of course lol.  I had some picture frames from a car boot so utilised them on the flutterbys.  I didn't want to altere them in anyway at all as I liked the metal against the serviettes.  The flowers I made myself using chiffon.  Thats it really - Quite a simple project. I do hope you like it.

New challenge for the Pink Team - D

Hello everyone and welcome back to my place.  All I have for you this week is a very simplistic canvas I put togther for this weeks theme of Celebrate Fall/Autumn which is being hosted by our lovely Yvonne

I painted the canvas red brown and gold all mixed up.  I sprayed a flower vine stencil using dylusions - sunshine I think it was. I used the same colour on the torn rafia at the bottom.  I used old twigs from my garden and tried to make it resemble a tree lol.

I found some old silver fabric leaves kicking about in one of my draws so I painted them up using red, gold and brown and sprinkled gold and bronze embossing powder over them, heat embossed and voila - finito!

Hope you like my simplistic project and hope you head on over to Eclectic Ellapu for this weeks challenge.  We have a treasure hunt going on for the whole of October so feel free to join in.

Hugz to all of you

A Lil' Shabby Chic.....D

Well it is out fourth challenge over at Altered Eclectics and the theme is always ANYTHING GOES so the imagination can run wild with enthusiasm.  This time I felt like putting something really pretty together.  I made a hanger out of wire and used calico as the hanger.  Then came the copious amount of doilies I have been hoarding as didn't want to use them.  We all do that, don't deny it lol.  I found an image on the net, printed it out and used broideries anglaise to frame it.  I crocheted a long chain and edged inside the frame and then used a really old piece of lace just inside of the crochet chain.

I put together a large flower and 2 smaller flowers crocheted by me with some cotton layers.  I then crocheted a fan and used pearls to give it some ummmpppphhh!  I made the bow from 2 really old tiny doilies and a crochet flower on top.  I adhered some oddments of old lace cut out of doilies to hang from fan.  I then crocheted some leaves to dot about on the front but guess what I joined them together and turned them into a butterfly lol.  I used some more pearls on the wings and wired some pearls and crystals for the feelers.

I used copious amounts of feathers on the finished project.  The back of the hanging is covered in doilies but forgot to photograph it and it has now been sold so unable to do so. LOL.

Anyway I hope you like what you see.  Please head on over to Altered Eclectics for this months challenge and join in or leave some love for my wonderfully talented DT.

Hugz and love to all
