Couple more finished....D

and there will be so many more coming up lol.  I am not that good with making cards anymore - I just prefer my mixed media and altering.  I am trying to incorporate my mixed media into cards with out making them so heavy that they won't stay standing lol.

The main ingredients as you can see are lace and metal buttons with random screws etc ........

I do hope you like my latest efforts and am sure there will be more over the weekend.

Quickie Christmas cards.....D.

And that is all they are - quickie cards.  The one that took the most time was Santa at his desk as a lil colouring was needed lol.  I got to use up some buttons I have been hoarding and I will be using alot more as I enjoyed making the button tree cards.

How vintage is this?????

Happy Friday all....

Has been a hard week and felt the need to splash some paint and stuff so off to my room I went and came up with a vintage canvas.  I actually quite like the look of this.

Ingredients

dark brown acrylic
Metal brooch
mulberry flowers and buds
silver leaves that had been forgotton about and getting dusty lol
an old earring for top left corner (disks and sequins)
lace cut from doily
plaster frame and tiny cupid plaque I cast
photo from magic moonlight
distress ink for photo and splash of water
metal butterflies
pearls
diamante look trim
metallic paints and inka gold

I think that is all.  I threw it all into mixing bowl shook it about, scooped up all that I dropped on floor.  Let it stand for 10 mins - poured over the canvas, smoothed the edges with pallet knife and voila!

Here's the finished product

Christmas Project 2 - D

Yes thats right I have been a busy bee today.  Another replacement christmas card.  This is my button tree wall hanging.  I was inspired by a lovely lady on You Tube Jennings644 when she made a bling tree.  Here is the link to Fi's art Bling Tree .  I used a piece of chipboard, laid lace down in the outline of a christmas tree.  I filled it completely with vintage buttons.  I painted over it all with black.  When dry I used metallic paints and then rub and buff.  I made the pot using cut cocktail sticks.  I then cut round the shape of the lace - Voila all finished.  i did enjoy making this so you will probably see more of these on my blog lol.

Christmas project 1 - D

Hi all

Just a short post to share with you - probably more pics than words lol.  I made a small shadow box from foam board. covered in modelling paste, painted black.  I made the snowman out of clay, pearls and cocktail sticks with clay snowballs at his feet.  The section above has tiny jingle bells hanging and some piled on the floor.  The tiny christmas tree was bought but suffered the paint alongside everything else lol.  The cube looking objects are supposed to be parcels - yes go on laugh.  For the wreath I used a metal ring, stuck moss over it and some pearls. I stuck snowflakes randomly on the inside.I painted over everything with dark blue and when dry used metallic paints and then rub n buff.  I shall use this in place of a christmas card for one of my children, well adult kids.

Black and White challenge - D

Hi all

This is the last challenge for the pink team over at Eclectic Ellapu until Feb 2nd.  The Purple team have their last one next week.  A great 2 month break for us all.

Anyway the theme is Black and White and I chose to make a large tag.

I gessoed and painted tag white.  I use scraps of a doily I had previously cut up and stuck it into molding paste.  I brushed lightly over the lace with black paint.  I spryed some moss, leaves and flowers with black dylusions and wiped over with creative expressions white rub over - if you know what I mean lol.  The frame I made from a mould using air dry lite clay, painted it black and again wiped over with the white.  I used the same technique on the 2 little birds and a few old buttons. The pic I printed from the net on Moonlight Images.

Now for the entourage of piccies - SORRY!!!

November challenge EE - D

Hello everyone - am hoping all is well with you all. It is time for a new challenge over at Altered Eclectics and I have chosen to alter a canvas using a steampunk theme.  Alot of different elements in this project so I think I should just list as much as I can rather than ramble on and on and on!

I have used the following:

narrow rope and odd pieces of chain
wooden cogs, wings and smaller clock face - wings were sprinkled with frantage just after its dipping
diecuts of iron fence wrapped in wire, clockface and hands, key and keyhole - all dunked into my melting pot
brass keys, twisted and scewed up wire
printed steampunk lady - decoupaged and dunked in melt pot
duct tape stuck to card, run through embossing with clock folder and black card using cog embossing folder then embossed using gold powder
book rings and chain holding the metal keys
pieces of card covbered in masking tape scrunched up and dipped in melt pot
everything was painted blue, black and gold and red rub over when dry

Sorry for the overload of pics but I could not make up my mind on which ones to use so you got the lot - SORRY

I do hope you like it and I would like you all to hop on over and join in the challenge this month.  It is always ANYTHING GOES as long as it is altered art.

Hugz to you all
