Just Playing. F

Well this makes a change - creating just for my blog and not for a DT piece.  I covered a canvas with sheet music from an old book.  I used 3 pieces of calico and stamped 2 of TH stamps from the classic range.  I stamped the lady face over 2 pieces.  I love these faces.  I stamped a feather stamp all over the pieces using peacock feathers TH distress ink.  I used a dot stencil and a line one using my modelling paste,  Once dried I used inka gold over the texture.  The sentiment stamp came from one of the classic sets.  I didn't want to cover this one in loads of embellishments.  I wanted to keep it simple and simple it is lol.  Thats it and now for overload of pics - couldn make up my mind which to post - as usual lol.

Audrey Hepburn not Marilyn Monroe F

It is a new challenge over at Anything but a Card and the theme is FRIENDSHIP.  I chose to alter a canvas using a photo of the most beautiful Audrey Hepburn.  I just love her.  The phrase I have used is  Marilyn Monroe but I wanted to use Audrey.  I will now list all the ingredients below.

First DT project for The Mirror Crack'd F

Well yes I have been chosen to hold a DT post for The Mirror Crack'd - an altered art/mixed media blog so fandabbydozy I say lol.

The theme this month is Journal cover and this was ideal for me as my journal needed uplifting.

I painted the cover with gesso and stuck various die cuts and wood misshapes to the cover.  I then used poly filler to stencil brickwork randomly.  I painted over it using gesso again.  I then sprayed lots of different colored dylusions and finished it all off with different colored Inka gold rub. Sorry for the overload of pics but found it difficult to choose which ones to post lol.

Yayyyyy - Am now a new DT for Rhedd's Creative Spirit F

Yes that's right I am now part of the fabulous DT for Rhedd's Creative Spirit.  Huge thanks to Sandie for taking me on.  For my first DT project I altered a Laughing Cow cheese triangle box.  I altered it to hold my pearls, artificial of course, to sit on my dressing table.

I painted the box initially and then cut out some paper for the lid, inside and out, and for the bottom.  I distressed the edges and wiped brushed TH walnut stain round the edge and over the paper.  I then dripped water over it to give a vintage look.  I then covered it using mod podge to give the entire box a little more robust.  For the edges I used trim from my bits and bobs box (got too many of them lol)  I also found a flower and bow I had made for a previous project which never got finished.  For the flower centre I used glossy accents and added pearl beads and the bow an old button and again pearls.  (scrap box does come in handy lol)  I used cotton reels for the feet - painted with cream acrylic.  I lined the bottom with satin.  

That's it - all finished and I hope it meets everyone's approval

New challenge Altered Eclectics F

Hi everyone.  It is Altered Eclectics first challenge in 2015.  As always it is Anything goes I felt I wanted to do something different so decided to alter a willow wood heart. 

I bought some tacky glittery leaf garland, a robin, spray of flowers and birds nests with plastic eggs from a 99p shop.  I forgot to put robin in pic lol.

I sprayed the heart using adirondack color wash. I cut out a space for the birds nest and bird to sit comfortably once finished. I painted the leaves - 2 coats and then wiped distress ink over the top. I pulled the birds nest to the shape I wanted it.   i painted the robin using brown acrylic. I then cut the plastic egg into halves and painted them blue and dotted white pen for the speckles.  I sprayed the flowers using gold glimmer mist.  I used tiny letters, wiped with distress ink to darken and used them for the flower centres spelling out home.I used some dried moss from my stash and placed it randomly in the heart.  I used raffia to hang the heart.

New year, new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu - F

2 (hearts) beat as 1.

Hi all there are new challenges over at Eclectic Ellapu - The first for 2015.  

The Pink Team theme is 

Burgundy/Red and Cream 

and for the

Purple team  

Roses and Hearts.  

As I am a Pinkie girly I decided to put four wooden hearts together.  I painted 2 cream and the others burgundy. I then adhered paper to them.  I overlapped the hearts and used my hot glue gun to do so.  I used wooden numbers, paper cut letters for 'beat' and metal letters for 'as'. The letters and numbers were painted and triple embossed using utee.  The hearts were then coated with rock candy.  I used a red and cream chiffony type ribbon to piece it altogether.

I am not all that happy with the pics as the burgundy color looks more purple but believe me it is not lol.
