Birthday tag......D

Hi all

I needed to make a birthday tag for a friend so kicked my own ass and got down to it.  The basis is a card which lace/ribbon is sold from.  I backed it with a postal design serviette and then used a stencil and modelling paste wiped over with cream paint.  I embossed some cream card and rubbed gold and pink over the top.  I used a metal butterfly, ivory doilies, cream and pink flowers, beige, taupe, ivory and pink lace, pearls, an old earring, feathers and ribbon from my stash.I made the frame using air clay in a mould I have, painted with taupe and rubbed over with pink.

That is basically it - no rambling from me tonight as heading to bed and needed to get his posted.

Prezzie for colleagues birthday...D

Hi everyone

Before I head off into ramblings of a part time crafter I would just like to remind you all that 1st Feb is fast approaching which means 1st challenges of 2014 for Eclectic Ellapu and for Altered Eclectics.  So get crafting away and please join in as usual.

Right onto my latest make

I made a desk tidy for a colleagues birthday.  I made it out of foamboard and after many expletives I finally managed to get it all to fit lol.  I covered it in modelling paste and then painted in lilac.  the inside I painted purple - her fav colours.  I used cosmic shimmer on paper flowers and silk leaves and randomly stuck them to the sides.  The picture does not do it any favours - looks far better in real life lol.

Pressie for a colleague....D

Just a quickie post as too tired for rambling lol.  I used a paper mache box.  Painted and sealed it inside and out.  I used papers from my stash.  The flowers and stickpin I made.  I edged with lace and used wooden letters for the top.  The bling was a piece of old jewellery.  The metal butterfly is also from my stash - stoopid me forgot to take pics of the box side could kick myself as have already given it to Ruth lol - sorry x

Dads 80th birthdayn -- D

Happy weekend everyone

I do hope you are all well.  Only a couple of weeks until Eclectic Ellapu and Altered Eclectics start up again after a long well deserved break.  I do hope you will drop by and join in with the challenges.

Anyhow I have been working on these bits and pieces for my Dad's 80th Birthday.  I used a 16''x20'' canvas and an old frame which I altered for a family collage and 8'' letters instead of a card.  The letters I bought new from Hobbycraft.  I used modelling paste on the letters acrylics and gold, copper, silver, platinum buff over the top.  For the back of the letters I printed off pics of all the things he loves onto photo paper. Doris Day, his wife and siblings that are no longer with us, horse racing, growing vegetables and reading.  He can then display them either way.

I have to say this project took me a long time, alot of photo paper and printer ink but I am pleased with the end result.

Another make......D

Hi all

I do hope you are all enjoying a crafty weekend.  I have managed to finish crocheting a baby blanket (another project out of the way lol) and then of course wandered to my sanctuaryto sit and think what to do.  The other day a colleague at work gave me a bag ful of broken jewellery and at the bottom of the bag were heaps of bangles.  So that was it an idea was born.  I decided to make a pen holder for her desk.  Kind of upcycling her bangles and giving them back to her lol.

Ingredients

bangles, glue, gesso

pink and cream acrylic

odd flowers and leaves from my stash

lace and bead trim from my stash

Velvet ribbon from my stash for the inside rim
Marvel dry milk tin lid for base

rub n buff to finish it off

Christmas canvas for a friend... D

I just love my mixed media projects and as you can probably see I always err on the side of dramatic so to create this really stretched me.  My mate is into shabby chic so gave it a go.  I am still unsure of it but here it is.

Materials used are as follows

Modelling paste

blue, cream and pink paints

gold, silver and copper rub n buff

snowflake charms

holly leaves and berries from my stash

chipboard for the tree

lots of lace on my chipboard tree

lots of rose quartz, lemon quartz and amethyst

a glass angel from my stash and a pair of wings from a diamante brooch

embossing powder and glitter (leaves, berries and snowflakes)

pearl trim
glittered snowflakes and stars from a pound shop

crystals for the tree trunk

I think that's all I used lol

Secret Santa Prezzie - D

Hello to you all

I am slowly getting there with prezzies.  I made yet another canvas but this time as a secret santa prezzie for a colleague at work.  Had to have this finished tonight to give out tomorrow.

Lots and lots of embellies/euphrema used from my stash(lace, ribbon, charms, poppers, buttons, brooches, beads, leaves etc).  Painted blue purple from the right and slowly lightened towards the left.  I then used silver rub n buff over the texture.
