A gift for a friend - F

One of my friends at work is leaving this week so decided to decorate a heart for her.  This is the same friend I mde the poppy card for.

I covered the heart with serviettes and mod podge. I used one of my hand sewn flowers, lots of pink lace and ribbon. I used one of Fernli Designs frames and used a unity stamp for the sentiment.

Thats it really - nice and short and not long winded list lol.  Now for the pics......

A simple thanks.....F

I wanted to make a simple card a friend of mine who has done so much for me over the years.  Simple it is lol.  No sentiment on the front as I write my feelings inside myself.  I think it makes it more personal.  

I used another flower stamp I have recently purchased and alongside the previous poppy card  I just love it.  I then embossed it using clear powder.  I then used copics and prismas and made it monochromatic in sepia tones.  I love the vintagy colours/tones.  I would list all the colours I used but did not make a note of them lol.  Naughty me!  I cut them length ways and width ways and stuck them to a piece of white card stock and then simply placed onto a kraftcard.  All done!

A card for a friend - F

Yes you read it right - I have actually made a card.  I bought some flower stamps and I was lucky enough to get a poppy stamp.  I absolutely love poppies so really couldn't wait to get started on it.  

I just simply stamped, embossed and used my copics and prismas to colour the image.  The basis of the card is kraft and red card.  A simple bow in the corner on top of the crossed over ribbon along 2 of the sides.  

There you have it a simple card and quick project for a change.  I have to say I am really pleased with the end product.  Now for the pics - they are not great I admit as the flash got into the pics - sorry about that but hope I have captured enough for you to make them out lol.  I think I have duplicated a pic in the group of four so please ignore my mishap lol.

New challenge - F

over at Crafty Ribbons this week and the theme is Anything Goes with ribbon.  I have chosen to make a heart for a happy couple on their wedding day - this could be used instead of a card or even for a bride to carry with her bouquet.

I had fun putting this together because part of my DT package from Ali (Crafty Ribbons) were lots of the latest ribbons and boy did I use them lol.  I used a heart from Fernli Designs and painted it with pink chalk paint.  I then covered the heart with some remnants of lace from my stash - I made the flower from the same lace with a flatback pearl and a pearl spray.  I cut the ribbons to hang from the heart, on the heart and made little tags comig osut from the flower.  I found in my stash some pink pearl string to edge the ribbon on the heart front.

Yes you shall go to the ball......F

I have had this dressform hanging about for quite a while and it started to scream at me.  I was unsure as to what style I was heading for until I saw all my bridal lace and materials begging to be used.  All I am going to do with this post is show the different stages - there are a few so please do not get bored lol.  As you will see this was a long process with many layers of skirts lol

Please excuse the kitchen background - it was the only place I could photograph it where there was enough room. The dressform is 16 inches tall so it is pretty big!

Basket and mini hat = Memory box - F

My oh my - yes another hat lol.  Actually I have used it in a totally different way than normal.  I used it as a lid to a basket I bought from a car boot sale.  The theme over at Eclectic Ellapu this time is Travel (Reis) and or Anything goes.  Once this challenge is finished we will be going monthly on the 1st of every month.  This coincides with Altered Eclectics - makes it easier for everyone.

I have put together a memory box for vacations to keep items such as tickets. corks from bottles anything you wish to keep as a memory really.....Here are the pieces I used - I will then list all products I used and then the pics of finished item.

Just a couple of hats - F

This will be a quickie post.  I m making bits and bobs for a stall for a school fete where my mate works.  The idea is to make small items for the kiddies to spend their pocket money on for their mums (if they so wish lol).  So I have decorated 2 small hats so far using up oddments up from my stash bag.  The hats are 5inches wide so not taking an awful lot of decorating.  Funds made will be used for he school.  I will be making bookmarks.keyrings and such like so watch this space lol.

Just a quickie.....F

As you can see from previous post I have been crocheting butterflies and now have so many I thought I best use a couple and what better to put them on ... one of the millions of hats I have bought in lol.  

I used

white acrylic paint

simple hand made flower

some appliques I cut from a wedding dress hem

silk ribbon

cream braid

pearls

and of course 2 of my butterflies

Thats it - quite a quick and simple project.
