Altered Eclectics June Challenge *

Time for this months challenge over at Altered Eclectics and I have altered a sauce bottle rescued from my neighbors glass bin lol.

I covered the bottle with screwed up black tissue paper rescued from a recent parcel I had received. (alot of rescuing going on here lol)

I painted over top using black acrylic.  Once dry I added metal embellishments from my stash and gave them a coat of the black acrylic paint.

I used my hot glue gun to create the drips running down side.  I dry brushed green mixed media patina over the tissue paper.  To finish it off I used champagne gold, turquoise, platinum, copper and lilac inka gold on the metal embellies and drips.

All done and now for the pics.

Why not head on over to our monthly mixed media/altered art anything goes challenge - would love to see you there

  7. Elaine, This is so very fabulous. love all the rescuing, and the tissue paper and hot glue gives your your altered sauce bottle such wonderful texture. I have a few bottles I found in a second hand shop which are screaming out to be altered and I will have to get brave and try tackling them. I use to use crumpled tissue paper and even gauze on my watercolor paintings to give them some interest but I never though of using this kind of technique on bottles, it is such a great idea. Your work is always such an inspiration to me and this is stunning piece.
