Mini note book *

just a quickie today.  I needed a notebook for my handbag so this idea formed.  Not all that original but practical all the same.  I cut out chipboard front and back covers and used cream plain paper for the inside.  For the back and inside of the covers I used Indigoblu papers.  For the front I screwed some tissue paper and and when dry I painted using acrylic paints and once dry again I rubbed over inka gold to highlight the texture. then painted and rubbed over with inka gold.  - when it was dry of course lol.  I had a little wooden tree and a couple of tiny birds and they worked so well on the background of the front cover.  I used my bind it all and voila all done

Thanks for dropping by and hope to see you all again real soon

Guest Designer for IndigoBlu *

Yes that's right - I am the guest designer this month and how exciting is that eh!  I also had some amazing prizes and life does not get much better than that. - though it is not showing on their challenge blog yet lol.

For the theme this month over at IndigoBlu is ''Frame it'' so for my piece it was a no brainer.  I had a MDF frame from Fernli Designs.  I used gold embossing powder over the frame and then wiped various shades of Inka Gold over the top for the metallic look.

Now for the image, Jane Eyre, my fave stamp at the moment.  I stamped and colored her using my gold prisma pencil mainly for the flowers and flesh colors from my polychromo collection.  A little bit of red for her lips, and I mean a little lol and blue for her dress.

I adhered the pic to the back of frame and made a chipboard stand for the back.  This is now sitting on my shelf above my dressing table.

Now for the pics and I promise it is not mother overload. lol!

Thanks for dropping by today and hope to see you joining in with the challenge this month.

Hugz and love alwayz

Mini Christmas Album *

Well it is the end of an era and I have only been with working with this fabulous team but for a few months, well quite a few actually but time has flown by. It has been a pleasure working alongside such talented ladies and working for ''da boss lady'' Susan - Thank you all. For the final challenge for Anything but a card ''Celebrations'' I have chosen to make a mini Christmas Album to hold treasured memories. Why not join in with our final spectacular challenge - see you there!

I put together this album using various papers First Edition (well I think they, and hope they are as would like to purchase more lol) They are stunningly gorgeous to work with. I used chipboard for the album covers, Kraft card for the pages and spine, made plenty of tags and pockets for the pages, distress ink for the edges and voila all done and dusted. Now for the copious amount of pics but there was quite a lot of interaction to photograph lol.

I do hope you can join in with our final challenge if not for fun but for the inspiration you give us.

What are words without music *

It is time for a new challenge over at The Mirror Crack'd and the theme this month is ''Masks''.  This challenge is being sponsored by Woodware and the prize is £12 to spend in their store

Whatever your interpretation of this theme will be acceptable, albeit an actual mask, using mask tape etc.  I chose to alter a cheap thin plastic mask and attach it to picture board ( the insert to a Photo frame).  I used a piece of grey board, painted black as the back of the mask.

I collaged a music sheet on one side of the mask and dictionary on the other half.   I stamped out several sizes of butterflies using the same pages and placed the word butterflies to the music side and music ones to the word side (not that you can easily see the detail).  I used braiding on the edges and through the centre of the mask. I then used earrings and brooch for the eyes and mouth.

That's it for now and I do hope you will call again and please head on over to The Mirror Crack'd to leave some love to the Fabulously                                                    talented DT and enter the challenge.

Hugz always

New Challenge over at Rhedd's Creative Spirit *

Hi all - I cannot believe we are in August, time is running away from us. Nearly the C word again lol.

It is time for our August challenge over at Rhedd's Creative Spirit and for my DT piece I altered a cheap 99p birdhouse.

I took the house apart to make my reconstruction easier.  I painted the whole thing first and then covered the main part and base using papers from Indigoblu Euphrema collection. The wiped the edges using black soot DI.

I had recently munched my way through some pistachio nuts and saved the shells to use at a later date lol.  They came in useful as I used them to cover the roof lol.  I colored them using adirondack colour sprays and then inka gold them.

I used a fence from Fernli designs also covered with inka.  I used a tree also by them.  For the other tree I used a piece of old artificial christmas tree and placed a lil birdie on it.  .  For the window a film strip wooden shape (FD again) came in handy for the frame and then clumsily tried to make something that resembled curtains using a scrap of gold satin.

I stamped, cut out, coloured and shrinkled 2 of the crazy birds by Tim Holtlz and place one in the window and one on the fence (could not get a decent pic of them but hope you can see them)

I reassemble the bird house and voila all done and dusted.  Now for copious amounts of pics - I forgot to take a pic of the original piece but am showing you a similar house.

I do hope you enjoyed your visit and call in again sometime.  Why not head on over to RCS and join in with this months - you know you want to lol.

New challenge over @ Altered Eclectics *

For this months challenge I altered three 5x7 canvases and joined them together.  I covered the background in crumpled tissue and coloured it using brushos and h2o's.

I drew three hearts and paper mache'd using dictionary pages.  I used red brusho over the top working from the outside in watering the colour down in parts  until I achieved the effect I wanted.  I smudged black charcoal around the hearts to make them pop a little more.  Not so sure if it worked to be honest lol.

Now for the pics

Hugz for now and please head on over to Altered Eclectics for our fun challeges
