My first Christmas decoration and will not be the last *

I wanted to make a Christmas decoration for my daughter as it will the first one in her new home with her children after leaving a right sod of a partner.

I visited my fave pound shop and bought a flat wall hanging tree made of twig and had some awfully tacky bits stuck to it... first thing was to rip them off.  Yes I forgot to take the initial picture but did manage to take one with the initial lick of white paint.
I basically decorated it using lace, trim, ribbon, bells, old pearl necklaces, pine cones, roses, lots of pearl/diamante trinkets and bells (and they jingle/jangle too)

Now for the pics of my shabby chic Christmas decoration - hope you (and my daughter) like it as much as I do

That's it for today

Much love to you all

Stocking doll

Hi all

For a change I am blogging a project I have been working on and for no DT either ---- OOOO shock horror lol.

My dolly project was inspired by Fiona Jennings on You Tube and the link for her tutorial is here.

Seeing as you can see the process on her channel I can just show you my completed project.  Not sure what I will name her yet - will have long hard think about it lol.

Now for the pics - hope you like her.. not bad for a first attempt and am sure they will improve.

New challenge over at Altered Eclectics *

For this months challenge over at Altered Eclectics I have altered a coffee jar and tried to make it as simple as possible using shabby chic colours. I painted the jar using a dusky pink and then a layer of white antiquing cream and wiped back until the desired effect.  I used ivory lace around the jar.  I had some lace butterflies and flower trim.  I cur some flowers from the trim and layered onto the butterflies and topped off with a pearl center. For such a simple project I am pleased with the overall effect.  Now for the pics.....

Why not head on over to Altered Eclectics and join in with the fun.  we would love to see you there

New challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu *

Hello everyone - it is time for the November challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu and the themes for this month are for the PINK team it is Anything with a bow and for the PURPLE team it is Autumnal.  Such a lot of scope here.  I am on the Pink team so my project had to have a bow and luck would have it I had to alter a bottle as a gift and a bow made from cotton lace was being screamed for lol.  I painted the bottle using a greenish blue chalk paint, a layer of crackle medium and then a cream over the top.  I am really pleased with the crackling.  I used a brown lace and a cream one for the bows etc.  i added a couple of charms for decoration.  Quite a simple project but effective all the same .....

Altered ceramic vase

Another month, another challenge over at Rhedd's Creative Spirit and for this month I altered a small black ceramic vase.  I painted the surface with green chalk glass paint, following layer of crackle medium, white paint over the top and allowed to dry and crackle.  I painted another layer of green and then started to sand back.  I then decoupaged roses from a napkin and varnished over the top.  I sanded the surface back to age it.  Quite a simple project but I love it and will take pride of place on my dressing table for bits and bobs.

Now for the pics

Thank you for dropping by and please head on over to Rhedd's Creative Spirit and join in with this months challenge.

Love and hugz to you all

Time for another challenge over at Rhedd's Creative Sprit *

Yes it is that time again and where has this year gone to ... so very fast.  For this month I have altered a wine bottle and although it was one of my simpler ones I am really pleased with the result.

First I sprayed the bottle with a frosting spray I had bought and was very disappointed in it - rubbish but has served a purpose this tie.  I needed some tooth and it at least achieved that.  I then dabbed using a sponge some silkies type powder paint that has to be mixed up using a gel medium.  It gives a wonderful shimmer effect.  I used purple, pink and blue.

I had ordered some lace from China and was gobsmacked when it turned up - it was so wide I thought I would never find a project to use it on but hey I cut out all the bits I wanted to use as decoration for my bottle.  I love he effect so much so not only has it served as my DT piece for Rhedd's Creative Spirit but have used it as my banner on my Zibbet shop, KrafterZion.  Please head on over and take a look at Rhedd's Creative Spirit, join in and leave some love for the wonderful DT ladies, they are so fabulously talented.

Now for the pics including the one of the extremely wide lace.

Hugz to you all and can't wait to see your creations.

October already *

For this months challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu, theme for the pink team is Vintage or Shabby Chic, I have altered a birdhouse with a  shabby chic feel to it but it also has a useful purpose to it.  I left the roof to serve as a lid.  I am going to use this as a container for my cotton wool in my bedroom.

Items used for this project are
birdhouse
pink and white paint crackled
ribbon
2 metal corners, 2 metal filigree and metal owl - all can be purchased from my zibbet shop called KrafterZion
modelling paste for the roof and highlighted using pink inka gold

Sorry for the overload of pics but it had to be done lol.

Thats it for now and why not head on over to Eclectic Ellapu for this months challenge
