My mums mermaid has a makeover - D

Hello everyone

I was going through my mums things who passed away 2 years ago and found her mermaid ornament who looked pretty sad and lifeless.  I have only just starting looking through her stuff - taken me this long and the pain does not really lessen, not for me anyway.  Ok so I have decided to give this a makeover and will be placing in my bedroom.

I used brown paint, dry brushed all over using cream and then highlighted using inka gold.

What do you think?

Fun with Fernli Designs - D

Hi all

Been a few days without posting so need a slap on the wrist I know lol.  For my project this time I used Fernlidesigns wood embellies and giant tag.  great products, friendly service at fab prices. Here's the link to their shop. Fernli Designs

For this I used a giant tag, clock faces, puzzle piece, cogs, clock hands and one inch tiles.

First of all I painted the tag and tiles.  For the tiles I stamped my sweet old unhappy lady lol and then triple embossed using clear embossing powder to give the glassy effect.   I also stamped her face on a puzzle piece to lay on top of he tile for a little dimension.  I used a clock mask on the tag with modelling paste, painted over the top using various brown acrylic paint and then rubbed over the top using inka gold. I then stuck the stamped and embossed tiles to the tag. For the clock parts I rubbed over inka gold and TH distress inks and then rubbed over real hard with a rough piece of cloth to age it a little.  I usded a couple of vintage metal buttons and for the words my dymo machine.

And there you have it all done.

I do hope you enjoyed your visit this time and hope to see you again.
