Eclectic Ellapu Challenge Time.....D

Well it is time for our next challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu.  Fabulous Claire is hosting this week and she has chosen the theme of

So we are looking for any masculine project for this week.  Is it Fathers day soon or perhaps a birthday for the love of your life.

I decided on a tag and pencil tin.  A tag what a surprise lol.  I used a coffeemate tin for the pencil holder.

For both projects I used foil sheets.  I used a biro to make the faux rivets and a credit card to make the dents along the seams of the foil sheet. I rubbed black acrylic paint in to the foil to dull the shine and make it look aged.

I embossed black card using clock folder, tore it into pieces and rubbed rub n buff over it.

I altered the shiny chains using paint, rub n buff and then more paint.

The cogs and time pieces are wooden and bought from Crafty Emblies.  I altered these by using versamark and coated them with frantage, heated them up until they bubbled which gave a cracked effect and then rubbed in more paint and rub n buff.

The label pull on the tag is by Tim Holtz.  I bent it about a bit to try and flatten a little.  The clock hands are also Tim Holtz. The sentiments are from my lil hand machine which I can't remember what its called LOL....

Here is the overload of pics... SORRY! and I mean MOTHER OVERLOAD!

Thats it from me right now and I hope to see you all over at Eclectic Ellapu joining in with us in the fun!

Hugz and love

Time for Outlawz Challenge...........D

Yes it is time for another challenge over at Paper ala Mode, Outlawz and I happen to be hosting said challenge.  The theme is everyones favourite

I have a work colleague leaving next week and have made her a lil prezzie......an altered canvas.  I love to work with canvas, bet you didn't guess that!  I gessoed the background and layered pinks and yellows over the top.

I then used various Paris stamps on tissue and collaged on the canvas.  The gorgeous lady is the main focal point, well I thought so until the heavy shower of flowers appeared lol. I sprayed Cosmic Shimmer Mist to give the flowers alittle depth.

As well as the flowers I used a couple of metal butterflies, 4 corners and 4 leaves, all of which I purchased from Dawn Til Dusk Crafts. I used a lilac colour rub n buff over them to blend in a little.I used letters made by our Judie and Pete over at Crafty-Emblies.  I just love them so much.  Will have to buy more lol.

I hope you like my project... more to the point I hope my mate does ha ha ha!

Why not come on over and join us in the Anything Goes challenge, you may even have fun!

Another project to share..D

Hi all

I have been real busy at work this week and not an awful lot of quality time spent with my crafty goodies.....
I have managed to put this altered canvas together last night and is my second entry for the CRAFTY-EMBLIES altered art challenge - the theme is WINGS.

It depicts the imprisonment of a lady and the birds are free.  I used an old rhyme I remember from childhood.

''1,2,3,4,5 once I caught a fish alive... 6,7,8,9,10 then I let him go again.
Why did you let him go. Because he bit my finger so!''

I obviously just used the first two lines and changed the word fish to bird.

I gessoed the canvas and then started laying texture using texture past and acrylic paints.  A third of the canvas was crackled over the past and paint, a third was just texture paste with paint, partially dried and then dragged to produced wrinkles.  Difficult to see the different texture patterns but they are there lol.

I triple embossed the birds and the cage.  The cage was embossed over top using verdigris embossing powder to give it the aged look.

The body form and top hat was painted using viva decor metallic paints and then stamped with the lady image, called Isobel.  I love her so much - stunning image.  I then triple embossed them to give them depth.

All the embellishments came from Crafty-Emblies.  I just love them so much.

I used number tiles for the numerical part of the rhyme which were then covered using glossy accents.  I used my machine thingy for the wording

I really enjoyed putting this canvas together and I hope you enjoy seeing it.

Hugz to you all and enjoy what is left of the weekend

I now return from whence I came!.....D

 Hi everyone

So excited as this is my first posting as DT for Crafty-Emblies Altered Art.  This is a really special time for Judie over at CE as we now have a specific Papercrafting Challenge with some really talented ladies.  Wowzers you just wait and see.  Both teams will be creating for the same theme each month.  This month we both go live on the same date, 17th Feb, but from next month altered art will be on the 1st of the month and the Papercrafting challenges will go live on the 15th of the month.  The challenge this month is

''WINGS''

Anyway onto my creation.  First of all I want to explain my title for this piece... I want it to come across that when we are born we are like angels from above and once in the coffin of wings we are returning to the heavenly above.  Does that make sense???.. well I thought it did at the time lol.

I made a coffin, not a boat, out of ordinary card using a Martha Stewart template.  I covered it in red, blue and black paint with a little bit of crackle.  The reason I say it is not a boat is that Paula, my Design Team Leader for Eclectics, said it was a nice boat when she first saw it LOL......

I die cut the iron fence using TH die painted it black and rubbed a little rub n buff into it. I attached this to the base of the coffin as decor and the lid to look like railings just like you sometimes see on coffins.

The lid of the coffin was like a box lid and it did not suit me so I cut off the overhang so the lid would slide.  I used chipboard to strengthen the lid.

I covered the cut off overhang from the lid with teeny weeny Fleur de Lis and attached it to the top edge of the coffin.  These were the left overs from a mask I bought from Crafty-Emblies. They came in real handy as you can see.

I used quite a few winged embellies made by our esteemed leader and her hubby, Judie and Pete, gave them all the same paint treatment and placed them on top and round the sides of the coffin.  I sprayed my creation with Cosmic Shimmer Mist to give it all a bit of an ummmmpppphhhhhh!  Hope it worked for you lol.

Now why not head on over to Crafty-Emblies and join in with this fun challenge.  The prize is not to be sneezed at either - £10.00 gift voucher for their fabulous shop.  Believe me you will want everything just like we do lol.

Hope to see you there..... Go on, you know you want to!! Whilst you are there soaking up our fab teams inspirational projects you may want to leave some love on their profiles.  we love comments as much as you.

Hugz and love to all

Another altered box..........D

Hello everyone...

Once again it is time for the new challenge over at Paper Ala Mode, The Outlawz. The challenge this week is Movement ie flight, walking, transport - anything along those lines and is being hosted by the talented Madeleen.  i am pretty biased as she is on my DT too ;-))

I decided to alter another box - am a fanatic with boxes lol.  At least lots of prezzies are being borne of my fanaticism lol.

I painted the box with gesso and then used alcohol inks for the base.  I stamped a map background on tissue paper and layered it onto the box deliberatelyy wrinkling it to give it texture.  Unfortunately the map disappeared against the background lol. Oh well lesson learnt from that!

Once dried I spritzed it with red and gold sprays to give it a bit of umphhhh! I then wiped a little rub and buff over some of the creases.  I applied white crackle paint using  palette knife and spread it over the top of the box.  It gave more texture near to the ceases and you can see a little crackle in parts.

I painted the penny farthing and wings I had bought from Crafty-Emblies using Viva decor metallic paints.  I then triple embossed them using clear UTEE.Ouch Ouch Ouch.. my poorly finger tips lol. They look quite effective I think.

I adhered them to the box using glossy accents.  The upper wing is on the lid so when closed it is in the desired place.

I painted the inside of the box using blue, pink and black to give it a mottled effect and was then varnished.

Well I think that is about it. I can hear all the sighs of relief lol.

Why not pop on over to the OUTLAWZ and join in with this really fun challenge.

Hope to see you there

Mini event/challenge project.........D

This is really quite a quick post. Todays mini project is to alter a CD.

I covered the cd with texture paste loosly mixed with gold and brown acrylics to make it look marbled.  After it was dry I sprayed with with cosmic shimmer and gold.

I used a TH die for the clock and hands.  I painted them in the same way and used a little varnish over the top.  I stuck the clock face to the cd using silicone and the hands to a pocket watch face from Crafty-Emblies after using rock candy over the top.  I finished it off with a mini button also from Crafty-Emblies covered in glossy accents.

I attached a substantial sized chain from which to hang it.

Thats it from me for now... I hope you enjoyed my mini project

Altered box.................D

Hello everyone

I decided to put together shabby chic style.  I love this style but find it extremely difficult to stay away from the dark colours and themes lol.  So there you go - I really struggle!

I used a box from Crafty-Emblies.  I painted it a dark green then crackled over top with a lighter shade of green.  For the lid I used a lot of random flowers from my stash.  Not used flowers for the longest time - well it seems that way lol.

For the inside I used allsorts of Crafty-Emblies for a sewing room theme.

Now this is a jewellery box and it wouldn't do for your bits and bobs to get all caught up in the decor inside.  So what I did was cut out some acetate to suspend over the top of my little scene.  I used silicone all round the middle of the depth and then simply laid the acetate on the ridge.  I then used glossy accents all round the edge to seal it. I have added a pic of a chain sitting on the acetate to show it exists but not sure it works!

I laid lace over the edge to decorate the inside and out.

I do hope you like this project.  Why not head on over to Crafty-Emblies and buy loads of goodies lol

Thats it for me right now and see you all soon.
Happy Crafting!
