Vampire Forever - Christy Croll

Hi everyone
Well today I spent a couple of hours with my Dad and step mum for lunch and then back up the hospital for a couple of hours sitting with my Mum.  I have not written about my Mums situation on here thus far but I will quickly fill in the gaps.  My mother has heart problems, breathlessness and cancer which started in the cervix.  She had six lots of chemo/radio therapy and a major operation in between and we all thought she had beat it.  However the scan 2 weeks ago shows it has spread up through the stomach and edging its way to her chest.  She stayed here over Christmas and just after getting home she was rushed into hospital again.  It has been totally rotten and it does not look as though 2012 is going to be a good year.  I just got to make the most of my time with her.  Any prayers would be very welcome at this tough time for my Mum.  Thats enough of thinking about that for the moment or I will become insane!

Tonight I put another card together using one of my favourite images of all time - Vampire Forever by Christy Croll.  Find it relaxing as it is a comfortable image to create with. I have used this a few times for wedding cards and they have been gratefully received.

The backing papers are by Nitwits and funny enough they are from Tapestry of Christmas buts who is worried about that for a wedding card LOL.  I chose it due to the colours.  The image has been finished using prisma color pencils.

The color of card is better represented in the second photo.  The trouble with taking photos under electric lighting in the evening!

The ribbon is from my stash.  The corners were from the same backing card and one of the coordinated papers from Nitwits.  The sentiment is from Iralamija shop on Etsy.

The butterfly is from my stash and I have had them for a while so forgot where they came from.  I added pearls to the body of the butterfly. The lacy border is a die cut from my stash which I shaded with promarker - Amethyst. I then placed pearls along the border.

The inside of the card coordinates with the front although less fussy LOL.

Well thats it for me at the moment. Who knows I may find my self back at my table later LOL.  Hope you enjoyed your visit and please feel free to drop by again...

  2. Thank you Lou, The hugz are important and I appreciate the prayers too. I'm praying that when the inevitable happens that it isn't dragged out. I will be with her all the way holding her tightly like I did with my step dad 2 years ago. Just got to make the time left count...
Cardmaking at the moment is helping me focus and stops me thinking about it all the time
