New challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu

For this month the challenges over at Eclectic Ellapu are for the Pink team '' Floral'' and for the Purple is ''It's a man thing''.

Seeing as I am part of the pink team my quest was floral.

I wanted to make something practical so I started out with 2 4x4'' box lids and a vaping liquid bottle - perfect for a tiny vase and a oddment of chipboard for the base.  I painted the whole lot pink, added crackle medium and then painted over using a grey chalk paint.  I allowed it to crackle and then set about decoupaging paper napkins over the insides of the lids, bottle and base.  I finished off using glossy varnish.  I joined the lids using pink ribbon and stuck the lids and bottle to the chipboard base. I used a variety of pink paper roses and some small leaves cut from an applique.  The point of having such a small vase is for those daisies the grandchildren pick - I now have something to put them in lol.

Now for the pics and hope you like it

Please head on over and join in with the fun over at Eclectic Ellapu

Challenge over at RCS *

Well here we are just crossing over into the 2nd half of the year and with a new challenge over at Rhedd's Creative Spirit.  For this challenge I found inspiration on you tube for this idea but mine is totally different.  I can't remember who it was I saw either so apologise for that.  If I remember I will add to the write up.  I altered a 99p cheap looking birdhouse on top of a wine glass as a stand and also to house a battery tealight.

I painted the house using white, added a crackle medium and then overlay with a cream acrylic (I mixed it myself using white and a little yellow).  I then attached lace flowers from a trim and pink mulberry roses and randomly attached to house and glass.  I used leaves from a silk flower spray also purchased from the 99p shop.  Actually I bought some robins from the Christmas section of the 99p shop lol.  I painted the robin in cream, painted the bill and eyes brownish colour and added pearls to the eyes.  I used eggs and nests from the Easter section and painted them cream also.  For the roof and base of house I used a beige cotton trim.  For the base of the birdhouse and glass bottom I covered with felt, added a tassle and stuck the two together - voila all done innit!

That's it for now and sorry for the overload of pics.

Why not head on over to Rhedd's Creative Spirit and join in with the fun.  Hope to see you there

Altered bottle for Altered Eclectic Challenge *

For this months challenge I altered a wine bottle from next door neighbours trash lol and turned it into a wedding present.  I don't drink due to all the medication I am on so rescuing bottles is my only option lol.

To start with I painted gesso as the base and then chalk paint over the top.  I decoupaged a rose paper napkin randomly. I blended the edge of the roses by dry brushing the chalk paint round the edges.  I sanded the entire bottle to one smoth it out and to age it. I then varnished the entire bottle and stuck one of my photos over the bottle front.  My favourite one of the married couple. Gorgeous image. I then varnished over the top, added my favourite trim, a few roses and a handmade bow.  All finished and ready for this months challenge.....sorry for overload of pics which I took in my garden....

Thank you for popping in and please free feel to do so again.  Why not head on over to Altered Eclectics and join in with this months challenge

Altered rice tin *

New challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu and for the Pink team the theme is anything goes.  So out came the napkins and a rice tin and bit of blue paint, then crackle medium and top coat of grey.  I used a cute little boy riding on a cart napkin, decoupaged it over the paint.  I sanded lightly over the tin to give it the aged look.  I dyed some braid using dylusions ink spray to darken it.  I painted a rope button gave that a squirt of spray also.  That's it all finished ready for use (not sure for what yet, flowers or pencils/brushes).  Sorry for the reflective pics folks, just couldn't get it right lol.

June over at RCS *

OH my the months are flying by.  I am trying to get ahead with my DT obligations and my mojo keeps coming and going just as quick as a blink of an eye lol.
For this months challenge ver at Rhedd's Creative Spirit I put together a paint brush holder using a rice tin. coffeemate tin and a coffee tin. a few napkins and a piece of ribbon.  I basically covered all tins in napkins and glued the sides of the tins together.  I place them on a piece of mount board, drew round the shape and cut out - this is the base for them to stabilize them.  I painted the inside using black acrylic and brushed over pva for a sealant.  I did the same for the outside and then used inka gold to highlight the many creases of the napkins.  Then finished off with a scrap of ribbon from my stash. First pick is of the napkins used totally unrecognizable by the end lol

That's it for now - I had managed to utilize 3 of the many tins I have laying around lol.

Why not head on over to Rhedd's and join in with the fun xx
