Birdsong....

Promise this is the last for today. I fancied doing some stenciling. So here it is another Sympathy card as I had one already printed from the other day. I used distress oxides for the image. I bought a pack of stencils from Amazon and this one was lurking in the pile.

Sorry there is not much to say about this one

Circling Butterflies

Today I thought of butterflies again

I had another printed background from PNGwing however my printer was running out of coloured ink so instead of being a solid colour it turned out like a splatter and a very small one at that. I couldn't waste and thank goodness I always print 2.
Out came my little butterflies and strategically cut them so each had a little colour on them. I then die cut a circle out of front panel. I adhered the the other print to the card base and then came the tricky bit - lining up the prints of the underneath to match the print with butterfly cut outs but to also be in the centre of the card base. I was not going to let it beat me so after all the patience it did come together. Not easy to see the matching but believe me it is a match lol. The sentiment was composed in word and printed before all the construction lol. I have no idea of the origin of the dies sorry!!!!

Butterfly Birthday

I just had to make this card when I saw three challenges that this card fits the bill so to speak. The challenges are Addicted to CAS - Pink ,  Less is more - vellum SHOWCASED WINNER  and Perfectly CAS - Emboss.

I used a frame by My Favourite Things

I used an embossing from Paper Discovery for the background in white and for the bottom layer of the butterfly.

The white background I wiped over pale pink inka gold over the raised areas

The base of the butterfly was inked in picked raspberry oxide ink pad. I used gold gilding wax over the raised area on the base of the butterfly.

Over the delicate top layer I had stamped some vellum using the same distress oxide ink, die cut and attached to white card to give it strength.  I added teeny tiny pink gems for the body.

The top layer has been raised to look 3D

Behind the trellis

To start off with today I was going to make yet another butterfly card and changed my mind towards dragonflies lol.

I printed the sentiment for a word document
I die cut two dragonflies into the front panel
I placed the actual white die cuts from the cut outs on the front, back into the negative space once I had placed the coloured background onto the card base (background downloaded and printed from PNGwing) and had adhered the front panel to card card base using double sided foam tape.
I used the grid die as a trellis. Placed it over the top one so it looks like it's behind the trellis,
The one at the bottom end of trellis I place two of the white dragonflies back into the space and then used wings only on top of that. This is to give the coloured one to be 3D. The coloured one is adhered by just the body.
I have no idea as the origin of the dies used as I have had quite a while and I am one of those naughty gals which throws packaging away lol.

Everywhere there is BEAUTY...

Tonight I have managed to put a card together using up some of my printed backgrounds for the butterfly and for the stencil, Sweet Poppy, I blended distress oxides, bundled sage, scattered straw and dried marmalade.

For the butterfly I used a solid butterfly die and cut it twice from the yellow bits from the background I had left over - was downloaded from PNGwing and printed out after inserting it into a word document.
I placed them into an embossing folder, by Paper Discovery, and run it through my big shot. I then wiped Pebeo Empire Gold gilding wax over the raised areas.
i adhered the bottom part of butterfly straight onto the card and then for the top one just stuck it over the bottom but only down the middle so the wings can be lifted.
The sentiment was composed in word and printed out for the front panel, of course before putting the card together lol. The front panel is adhered to the card base using double sided foam tape.

Thank you for visiting.

Friend's Birthday Card

I realized today it is one of my life long friends birthday on Sunday. We lived next door to each other when babies and our mothers used to put us into the same pram while they had a coffee. So the rush was on. I know i have many birthday cards hanging about but wanted to personalize one.

I loved making my dove card a few days ago so out they came again and thought this time after yesterdays card I wanted a bright and cheery design so downloaded a very colourful background from PNGwing. Printed it out cut the doves from the background and white card. Printed the sentiment out ad then die cut the birds from the front panel. Placed over the background on the card base so would show through the negative space of the doves. I had cut the wings and tails off the white ones. Reason for this is for me to stick the coloured body directly to the background. Placed the white wings and tails over the background - this enables the coloured wings to remain 3D.

Thank you for popping in.

A heartbreaking make

Today I had to make a Sympathy card, One of my very close friends died yesterday and I didn't make it to the hospital in time to say goodbye.

Anyway as hard as it is I made a card for her family.
I used a flower die die Alte&New Rose Queen and blended Distress Oxide inks in the background.
The sentiment was composed in a word document and printed.

Congratulations to the happy couple

Just a quick one to post today. Yesterday I had made a background on copy paper using Picked raspberry distress oxide ink pad on my media mat using a brayer to give it texture. (media mat is a thinner version of a gelli plate) Tutorials can be found on you tube.

The media mat sticks inside a stamping platform basically make the mess then stamp it onto the paper.
I stuck the paper to a scrap piece of card using a pritt stick.
I have had this wedding couple for a while now and think I may have bought from Amazon. I die cut it twice and stuck together, Pushed out her arm and dress to give it depth. I used double sided foam tape behind the raised parts. Front panel adhered to card base using double sided foam tape. Sentiment composed in word and printed.

Thank you for coming on over to take a peek

CAS Christmas Card Challenge 21 Pine

Today I have put together a couple of cards specifically for CAS Christmas Card Challenge - Pine,  I love this as I had the perfect stamp for this one.  The branch reminds me of what I call my Christmas tree in my garden.  It is beautiful when I put all my solar lights on it.

Anyhow I stamped the image twice, cut an aperture on front panel and placed over the card base.

The sentiment was composed in word and printed on the card front. Black card for the matt behind.

Thanks for looking

Comment - Elaine’s card is so elegant and beautiful.  Loved the seamless square aperture design.  The simplicity and all that fabulous white space made it CAS perfection.

With love on your birthday

For today I just had to get my birds out to play. I do not know the origin of this pair or the heart dies, but who cares I love them lol.

I die cut the birds and the heart on the front panel and placed one of my shaving cream backgrounds behind the apertures I had already composed the sentiment in word and printed so I could place them either side.
I stuck the white birds from the aperture back into the negative space. I then die cut the birds from the remainder of the shaving foam background, adhered the body to the ones below lifted their wings so the underneath can be seen
With the heart from the aperture I cut a smaller on inside and used it as a frame. I the cut 2 hearts in white and placed above.
The front panel is adhered to the card base using double sided foam tape.

Thank you for popping in to see me - well my cards that is!!!

Beauty is

For today's card I used all sorts of nature stamps.   None of which I can remember origin except the bee whom I bought from Gummiapan and the grass from Creative Expressions.  I made this for AAA Cards which the theme is

A small and few + optional ladybugs.  I don't actually own a ladybug stamp so improvised with cute creatures as others have done so.

I used black versafine ink, stamped onto front panel and adhered to card base using double sided foam tape

The bee I used a little yellow on his body. and a few dots behind to depict him in flight

The sentiment I composed in word and printed onto to front panel

Thank you for dropping in to look at my blog - much appreciated
