Needed a bookmark so took a selfie! *

Yes that's right I needed a bookmark.  I usually use an old letter or envelope so thought I would treat myself and make one.  So I took a selfie and just look how great it turned out after a little touch up here and there - just perfect don't you think!

I bought this stamp from someone on a facebook selling page - it is manufactured by INVOKE stamps - never heard of them before buying this one.  I just adore her and her name is Elaine - sorry Catrina lol.

I stamped the body first then her camisole and skirt.  The skirt was just a basic outline  - I drew the net effect.  I then coloured her in and stippled black ink randomly over top.  I then sealed her for another eternity using mod podge.

On the back I wiped alot of different inks and brushos which meant saturating the back of tag - the result some of the colours seeped through to the front and I just love the effect it has.  To help prevent the bookmark from sliding out when in use I covered the back with velvet effect card.

That's it my selfie is complete (take a look at my Altered Eclectic badge in the side bar - see it is me I did not lie lol) and I love it so much. Looks like a need a dentist real soon - appointment now made lol.   Now for the pics....

Hope you drop by again real soon

I looked at a salad today! *

Good evening everyone

This evening I wanted to make something quick and simple to give me instant satisfaction instead of taking on projects that take time and more time and even more time lol.  I also found a new challenge/events blog - Lost Coast Portal to Creativity and so wanted to join in with their challenge.

I made a tag this time.  I wiped Distress inks over the tag for the background, spritzed with water and dried.  I used texture paint through a dot stencil (Tim Holtz) and drew round the dots with black marker and sprayed adirondacks colour wash through a number stencil for the background.  The stamp I used is a Lost Coast Designs, 3 Flying Flower Girls.  I fussy cut round the girlies and outlined using my black marker. I used one of my Dylusion's sentiments as I felt it to be apt what with the girls have tape measures for the bodies.

I also want to wake up ''frikken skinny'' - well I did look at a salad today!  To finish off the tag I used string as the hangy thingy.

That's it all project completed.  Now for the pics - not many I promise, three to be exact!

That's it for the time being - may go make something else later or maybe not!

Canvas board ...*

I was scrolling through challenges and discovered the challenge over at Indigoblu this time is ''pocketful of posies'' so knew what I was going to do straight away - well the image I was going to use anyhow lol.  - Poppy heart.

I inked the stamp using white stazon on black card (for a change) I then painted it using H2O's and highlighted the entire image using white gel pen to make it pop.  For the flower centre's I used Th distress embossing powder.  I cut round the heart and I then cut out another heart shape and heat embossed using the same powder.

I roughed up a canvas board using modelling paste randomly.  I then sprayed the entire background using adirondack colorwash sprays, I wiped inka gold over the texture to make it pop a little more than it was.

The sentiment - the second half of the sentiment is an Indigoblu saying but for the hell of me couldn't get it to work on the canvas so decided to use my tape thingy majig - There you go easy peasy project - I do hope you like it,

Please feel free to pop in again real soon

A few more attempts with glass *

I went to a charity shop today to pick up a few glasses to practice on.  On the smaller glass I engraved a tree free hand and on the larger glass I stamped a tree onto glass and engraved over the top. My old faithful leggings lend themselves as the background in the glass lol .  Not that great but enjoyed the practice and just thought I'd share with you

Well that's it for tonight's attempts - thank you for popping in and do feel free to call again - Hugz and love always xx

Wings on a pin *

I am still waiting for my safety goggles and mask to arrive until I can experiment further with my glass engraver.

During the week I had been sorting out my CD's as new sideboard arrived and all had to be transferred so what better time to sort out and dust them off.  I found so many still sealed and untouched lol - bit like everyone's crafty hoard.  Well after culling the music I didn't have the heart to throw the excess CD's out so off they marched to my craft room where they will remain as clutter - just moved to a different room lol.

So.... I decided to make use of them - I made a brooch.  I cut out wing shapes to start with.  I then messed about with alcohol inks and achieved the look I wanted. I used my engraver to give the effect of the wing veins.  I triple embossed using utee and then sprayed with silver mica, heated it up to give the pitted look.  Trouble was I could no longer see the veins clearly enough.  So out come the engraver again and voila finito - well after the brooch pin was attached lol.
Not too many pics this time....

Thank you for dropping by and really hope to see you again soon

Turn the pages but don't wet your finger - it's a cloth book *

I had a sudden urge this afternoon to put together a cloth book, kinda shabby vintage using my remnants from my many bits and bobs boxes - yes plural as I am sure you all have more than one.  I used 3 strips of khaki colored cotton fabric as the basis and chucked right at it copious amounts of doilies, some of which were hand crocheted by me as was some of the flowers, bits of lace, pearls, feathers,  handmade flowers, mulberry flowers, ribbon, pearl string, ribbon, motifs and images from the internet. I also used a brush loaded with DI inks and stippled the images to make them look old.  I still had to use some lengths of ribbon from my stash so of course I now have even more bits and bobs to add to the box lol.  Oh of course I did
use some glue, now where would we be without the glue lol.

I will be gifting this to one of my friends whether she likes it or not lol.

Now for the pics (sorry mother overload)

and here is the state of my work area lol

Thanks for dropping by and I do hope you will drop by again real soon

Window to the heart -*

Hi all

I have been off sick for a couple of weeks and to be honest I haven't been heading for my craft all that much - Just cannot focus for all that long.  Anyway I found my way there.

I used an MDF heart and painted it using Silkes paints, dark green.  I then stamped using crackle stamp and Viva decor metallic/ glittery green 3d stamping paint.  I edged the heart using gold inka gold.

I then painted the frames using the same silkes paint and the 3D stamp paint.  I used some papers from the fairy belles paper stack and dissected the ballerina and placed her disjointed onto the square tiles within the outer frame.  For the other frame I used an image I had printed out from the net.  I used hinges to fix them together and placed them onto the heart.

I used the 3d paint on 3 large roses and instead of laying them down I fixed them into a cluster.  I added a bow and ruched up some ribbon.  I didn't want to add anything else - thought it was okay as it is.  Now for the evidence of my make lol and apologies for the imagery - quite difficult to catch what my eyes are actually seeing.....

My second leap into using Brusho *

I was in the mood to make a card today - so what to do I asked myself.  I recently purchased a set of tree stamps by Creative Expressions - I just love them but was unsure what to do with them.  So there I am sitting there terrified of the stamps and the beloved brusho's (yes they scare me still after having just the one success with them).  I played about with the brusho's once again and after several attempts I achieved an almost subtle background for woodlands.  Now for the stamps.  Hmmmmmm!  I didn't want to stamp directly onto the background in case I made a big boo boo with them lol.  So I practiced masking areas off until I felt confident it looked okay.  Now for another first for me I got a piece of acetate out of my stash (had to rummage about for it too LOL ) Dah dah! I think I managed to mask and stamp quite successfully - I used a sentiment stamp from another Creative Expressions which I stamped directly onto the card.

That was my little adventure for today and I have to say I am quite pleased with myself lol.
Hugz and love to you all xx
