Art dressform for Rhedd's Creative Spririt *

Yes thats right it is time for a now challenge over at Rhedd's Creative Spirit.  I have put together a dress form just using old dictionary paper, pva glue, wadding, ATB, a little lace trim and a lot of patience lol

I made the body form by glueing dictionary paper over top the clingfilm on the torso of a child's doll. Once dried I cut it up the back and removed the doll for another day lol. I filled the form with wadding to help keep its shape.  I covered the ATB with the same paper and married the 2 items together.

I then spent time folding and rolling paper and randomly stuck to the form.  I used lace to give a little interest.  I actually quite like it and pleased with my first attempt with the doll thing lol.

That's it for now and I hope you enjoyed your visit.  Why not head on over to our new challenge, always Anything Goes as long as it is altered/mixed media art.  We would love to see you there.

  11. Elaine, Just saw this on Rhedd's Creative Spirit and had to come for a closer look. Your handmade dress is absolute stunning. I have been wanting to try something like this for some time now and been thinking of purchasing some second hand dolls for this purpose but never imagined anything quite this wonderful as a possibility. I can only imagine how much time it must have taken you but what an amazing result. Thank you for the inspiration and I truly am inspired by your piece.
