Christmas Project 2 - D

Yes thats right I have been a busy bee today.  Another replacement christmas card.  This is my button tree wall hanging.  I was inspired by a lovely lady on You Tube Jennings644 when she made a bling tree.  Here is the link to Fi's art Bling Tree .  I used a piece of chipboard, laid lace down in the outline of a christmas tree.  I filled it completely with vintage buttons.  I painted over it all with black.  When dry I used metallic paints and then rub and buff.  I made the pot using cut cocktail sticks.  I then cut round the shape of the lace - Voila all finished.  i did enjoy making this so you will probably see more of these on my blog lol.

  1. What a fantastic idea! And a great way for button hoarders like me to use up a few of the thousand or so that have accumulated! lol. x

  3. Hi Elaine, I saw this over at Handmade Monday and had to click through because I also posted a little bit of button art. I absolutely love your tree and I might try something like this on canvas and maybe adding in fairy lights somehow - love it!
