Skellies on top of it all.*

I just had to make another top hat and the plan was a shabby chic one --- Oh dear I think I may have wandered right off track on that idea lol.

I made the hat out of a foam camping mat using the pattern from Lost Wax - link in previous top hat post.

After fiddling about cutting and gluing the pieces together I covered the entire thing using screwed up tissue paper.  I then sprayed it using navy, dark red and bottle green colour wash and finished it off using black paint randomly.  I used a cat and raven diecuts on the side.  I broke up a couple of skeletons and randomly placed them round the brim.  I set about positioning 4 complete skellies, one on a wooden ladder.  I then painted roughly over them all using the black paint.  I then mixed up some polished pigments in a reddish brown and a gold and dry brushed the entire project. Fabulous for a Halloween decoration - a bit early I know lol.

Now for pic overload - and I mean overload - SORRY!  Thank you for dropping by ad I do hope you call again real soon.

Anything but a Card is Fools Gold *

I must admit I felt a little stumped to come up with something relating to Fools Gold.  Then it came to me a few sun rays bouncing off a wall with a pile of fools gold.  And there you have it.  I used 2 stencils with modelling paste.  Painted the sky and rays dark blue, red, orange gold until I got the effect I wanted.  I pained the bricks brown and tan.  I then used alot of grotty plastic faceted beads I had lying about and stuck them in a pile.  I painted them over using gold and red paint.  Once all painting finished I used 3 Inka golds, copper, champagne gold and gold to give the shining effect.  That's it folks!

Why not head on over to Anything But A Card and join in this months fab challenge - we would love to see you there and what's more you will see some fabulous inspiration from the design team makes.

Another quickie post..*

Not too much to describe in altering a bracelet/watch gift box.  I covered the top part of the box using lace (cut round the center pattern) floral ribbon and velvet ribbon all from my ever growing stash.  I made a flower using the same lace and ribbon and edged round the sides using the same lace untrimmed.
That's it - I told you it was a quickie lol......

Off to bed now as just realized it early hours of the morning.  The reason for the lateness is due to me feeling a little better now I have 2 types of antibiotics and steroids plus inhaler.  I just put this quick project together so I can say I have been in my craftroom at least once in last 8 days.  Unfortunately I have further test to undergo as doc thinks I may have COPD.  I will have to deal with a little later I am just pleased I can breathe properly - very scary when trying to catch breath.

Anyway off to bed - hugz to all as always xxx

New month *

New challenge.  The challenge this month over at The Mirror Crack'd is

Create a Masterboard and use it in a project.

I used 2 sheets of A4 paper, background wiped with various distress inks and water flicked over it. Once dry I used various Da Vinci stamps - I love them so much.

I tore the images and stuck them all over a tin and small basket, sealed with modpodge and edges wiped with copper inka gold.  Sounds alot simpler than it is lol.  Mod podge is easy to get stuck to and ages to get rid of when picking it off than washing hands lol.

Anyway I will be using these at work on my desk - I like practical on occasion.

Now for the pics

Thank you so much for popping in and we would love you to drop on by over at The Mirror Crack'd and join in with the fun.  Remember there is a prize of a £12 voucher from Woodware.

Just a quickie today *

I wanted some almost immediate satisfaction in making something quickly.  Have not been feeling well the last couple of days and to make it worse my daughter and the twins are over for the weekend and they are ill too.  So it is the house of sickness at the moment.  I felt I needed to have break so off to the craftroom I went.  This is the result, a small CAS canvas. CAS is not all that easy for me but determined I was lol.

Ingredients - Canvas
Modelling paste and spot stencil
bits of lace, crystal trim painted, flowers, leaves and odds and ends from my bits box.
Gesso and mica sprays over the top
That's it instant satisfaction and now I get to share it with you.

Altered Eclectics new challenge *

Hi - For this months Anything Goes/Mixed Media/Altered Art I have decided to alter a simple little trunk box.

I had the really stunning papers in the drawer (along with hundreds of papers that never really see the light of day lol).  It made a change making something relatively clean - no real mess on my table!

I painted the box in a beige colour, cut the papers to fit the box making sure the peacock was placed as the whole.  I did the same with the sides.  I wiped distress ink round the edges. I then run the piping cord over the top and sides.  The final step was to use TH rock candy over the entire box to give it an aged effect.  Now for the pics

Why not head on over to Altered Eclectics and join in with the fun to be had.  Happy Creating to all.

Out of Comfort Zone - *

The challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu this month is as the title states - OUT OF COMFORT ZONE and crikey art journals scare me out out of my wits.  I have no idea why as I like canvases but then again they are more dimensional.  Anyway here it is - the list of products used to create this.

Ingredients
paint
sprays
stencils and modelling paste - I couldn't resist dimension lol
individual letter stamps
black ink for the edges then bleached in parts
ink for the faces when paste dry
purple metallic paint for the clock faces
badly drawn clock hands lol
white pencil blended out
script stamp randomly all over including the clock

Recipe - throw it onto page lol

I am still unsure of this but I think it is the best it is going to get lol.

Why not head on over to Eclectic Ellapu and join in with the Pink teams fun challenge '' Out of Comfort Zone ''or you could join in with the Purple  teams challenge of ''April Showers/Spring''
Just wait til you see the fabulously talented DT creations - they are fandabbydozy!
