March Challenge over at Rhedd's Creative Spirit *

So here we are again - challenge time over at Rhedd's Creative Spirit and for this month I altered an olive jar and I had gold in my mind lol and more gold and more gold.  I treated myself to some spray paints and a clear lacquer and this is the end result.  The metal pieces were from my overloaded stash lol.

March challenge over at Eclectic ellapu *

For the challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu the theme is Spring colours or Easter.  

It has been a long, long time since making a card and I thought what the heck lol. 

 I used this gorgeous image from Delicious Doodles.  I coloured it using my prisma pencils and promarkers and then covered it in Rock Candy as you will see in the close up pic.  I embossed the white background and used ribbon from my stash.  The sentiment I had lurking about in the corner of my stamp drawer so that was handy! Quite a quick and simple card - just what the doctor ordered lol.

''March'' on over to Altered Eclectics new challenge *

 Hello everyone it is time for the March challenge over at Altered Eclectics where anything mixed media/altered objects are welcome and for this month I altered a bolognese sauce bottle into a vase.  I usred a grfeen paint and white wash over the top using antiquing cream.  I used varnish over the top.  I used various lace appliques and butterflies and finished off with a few pearls.

February challenge over at Rhedd's Creative Spirit *

Hello everyone

It is challenge time over at Rhedd's Creative Spirit and for my project this month is an altered perfume bottle.  Firstly apologies for the quality of the before photo - worse than I thought but I think you can make out what it was like.

I believe it is an Yves San Laurent bottle

Anyway I used Silkies type paint which you mix powder with binding pase and dabbed various rich colours until I achieved the effect I wanted.   

Now for the pics

I used various metal filigree embellishments some of which I trimmed, small corners for the lid.

 I used pale pink inka gold over the metal to make it pop and I love the look. 

To finish off lots of red gems  I used glossy accents to stick everything to the bottle which also secured the lid.

New Year, first challenge for Altered Eclectics *

Doesn't the festive season fly by - blink and you miss the break.  Back to DT creative juices that need to flow each month and I have to say the DT girlies over at Eclectic Ellapu and Altered Eclectics have outstanding abilities of creating beautiful art.  

For this month I have altered a straw hat for a friend.  If you remember the purple Xmas tree hanger - well she has taken it down now the festivities have ended. there is a blank space on her wall so for her birthday I put this together to fill that space lol. 

I painted the hat purple and then brushed over with white - enough to let the purple show through.  I used 2 different colour purple ribbons and some lace appliques.  I have so much stash I have made myself a promise to start using it up lol.  I think we all say the same and yet there never seems to be a spare gap lol.

Feb challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu *

For this challenge I altered a coffee jar into a wedding present.  My cousin is getting married this year so an ideal opportunity to get a little romantic lol.  I painted the jar white, decoupaged a napking on the front and used appliques from a donated wedding dress by a work colleague.   Lucky gal I am lol. I finished off with a white tassel and pearl flower centre.

January 2017 - New Year and new challenge over at Rhedd's *

Happy New Year everyone

Time for a brand new challenge to kick start 2017 over at Rhedd's Creative Spirit.  Fot this challenge I altered a black plastic mask I bought from a pound shop (always rooting about in there lol)  

I forgot to take a picture for the before but have plenty of the after lol.  

I painted it using pink acrylic paint and used a variety of laces, bling and flowers to decorate.  I do hope you head on over to Rhedd's Creative Spirit and join in with the fun whilst feasting your eyes on the DT fabulous makes.
