New Challenge at the OUTLAWZ

Yayyyyyy  it is fun time once again over at Paper Ala Mode, Outlawz and the challenge this week is EMBOSSING. I have chosen to make a larger type matchbox.  I covered it in burgundy and cream card.  On the base I embossed script onto the burgundy.

The image at the back is embossed and covered in rock candy to age it further.  I used spellbinders butterflies and flowers from my stash.  The lace flower in the box I made out of lace.

The inside of the drawer was painted with acrylic paints and crackled (not that it all that visible)

Well thats about it really.  Not much more to say which makes a change. LOL!

Now for the pics........

Why don't you head on over to the Outlawz and join in on the fun!

I just love my TIN FOIL!

Hello everyone

What miserable weather but hey what should we expect for winter (and all year long lol) At least it is a good excuse to shut oneself in the craftroom.

Today I have another tin foil project to share with you.  I had bought plain matchboxes and decided to make an advent calender ideal for a man however that is not what I ended up with lol

I covered 6 panels of chipboard with crushed tin foil, one of which had 5 wooden cogs arranged for the top.  I used black acrylic paint over the top and wiped away to give the aged metal look.  I glued the matchboxes in stacks of 6 and stuck the panels to the sides to make it look like a cubed chest of drawers.

Now this was the point I swore alot - the inside drawer of the matchboxes I had bought either would not fit at all or were really stiff.  So guess what I had to make 24 tiny boxes to fit the matchbox shell.  I was not a happy bunny.  Mental note here.... only used proper match boxes in future!  I made them alot more shallow to fit and then decided I needed drawer fronts so cut out small pieces of chipboard to serve that purpose.  I cut them by hand so they were not perfect.  I wanted it to look old, not perfect! I finished them off with more tin foil.

I used screwhead brads with mixed heads.  I then had another problem in the fact I could not grip the brad to pull the drawer open.  I decided to use eyelets as a spacer between brad and drawer front.  Voila finished and very pleased it is LOL.

Here are the pics

I hope you enjoyed your visit today and please call back again.

Pink and Cream Challenge @ Eclectic Ellapu

Hi all you lovely crafty friends.

It is challenge time over at ECLECTIC ELLAPU and the theme this week is PINK AND CREAM and the host of this challenge is the brilliantly talented Berni.

I have put together a Shadow Book Card.  I was stumped at first as to what to do with it.  I just could not make up my mind so in the end I decided to put together a collage of script and pictures of Leonardo Da Vinci women - well two of them anyway. You will notice a recurrent theme of one particular woman... I absolutely adore her so she got the most coverage lol.

I used a sentiment from one of TH Classics stamps.  The edges of all the distressed pics and pages have had tattered rose treatment.  I clear embossed one of TH women on the inside cover and used distress ink over the top.  I used a diecut butterfly, clear embossed with tattered rose over the top.  The muslin came from my stash.  The front strips on the inside round the box edge are stamped using a leaf stamp.

Anyway I think the overload of pics will show you more clearly than my babbling lol.

Anyway I hope you enjoyed your visit and please drop by my challenge blog and join in with the fun.  Hope to see you all there and please leave some love for my wonderful DT's.

Hummingbird - Inked Paws

Hello everyone

It is that time again over at Creative Card Crew for a new challenge.  The theme this fortnight is Blue and Silver and we are being sponsored by Simon says Stamp who are offering a $20 Gift Certificate.

For this challenge I used one of my favourite images from Inked Paws, Hummingbird.  I coloured her up using my prisma pencils and used glossy accents on her eyeslips and rose.  I used blue coredinations paper and silver card as the layering and backing.  I cut the clock using Tim Holtz die again in the silver.  I then used 4 sets of hands for the corners.  I used Tim Holtz alphabet die for the sentiment.  She really does love that cute bird eh!  This has been mounted onto a white card and I will be using this for my friends birthday so this has served two purposes LOL.

Anyway that is it for me right now... need to head to bed.

Why not pop over to CCC for a chance to win that fab prize on offer.  You have to be innit to winnit!

Yet another tag!

Hi all

What a wonderful weekend had by me... spent most of it decorating and I feel shattered.. however not shattered enough to get up into my craftroom lol.  I decided to make another tag as I really enjoyed making last nights and I felt inspired by this weeks challenge over at ECLECTIC ELLAPU - ''Its a Vintage Thing''.  One of my fav styles.

Anyway I embossed a tag and sprayed it with aqua, gold and mulberry mists then a quick rub over  the raised areas with gold.  I saturated some cream lace with the same mists to make them look grubby lol.  The flowers I had already made up and were excess from my albums I have made in the past so that was handy lol.  The photo of the girl came from a free vintage site and the wording I produced in word.  I used blue TH distress ink over the wording. Thats about it really so I will let you all enjoy the rest of your sunday evening.

Tag

Evening all.. well I should be saying goodnight as I am so so tired but hey I wanted to get this on here tonight before I chase those jumping sheep down the road lol.

I didn't really know what I wanted to work on tonight.  I suppose we all have those moments where we become stuck on ideas and worry that we have lost it.. well it was my turn again.

I decided to make up a tag for no reason except that I did lol.  I used distress inks for the background colour over clear embossed script stamp.  I used a set of roman/greek type stamps and cannot for the life of me remember where they are from but I promise to update this if it comes to me. I used a small frame for the lady's face.. not sure if you can see it all that well.  I used jewelled ribbon and flowers from my stash. I inked up a couple of feathers using forest moss ink.  The metal corners, I believe,  came from Cuddly Buddly.  The stones at the base of the tag came from an old necklace of mine.  See upcycling again .. you just can't keep me out of the bins!  The coin charm and chain also jumped out of me from one of many stash drawers....

Anyway here are the pics

Christmas Gift

Hi all

It is that time again over at Paper ala Mode, Outlawz.  The theme this week is to produce a gift for Christmas.  I chose to make another teeny album for one of my daughter in lawz.  I used up some of my scrap papers and scraps of ribbon for the decoration byt the main base for this album is toilet rolls.  How cheap was that lol.  I decorated the front with a few flowers and a charm which in its previous life was an old necklace of my daughters.  I found this lying around all tangled up like you do!!!  Its good as I found a use for it ..... The tags are plain for either journalling or photos and I have attached various scraps of ribbon using a normal stapler.  A totally recycled project... yayyyyyy

Anyway here are the pics and don't forget to hop on over to the Outlawz and join in the fun with us.

Christmas Card

Hello all

It is time for ther Pink Teams second challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu.  The fabulous NanaConnie is hosting this challenge and her choice for this weeks theme is

I thought I best get started on my Christmas cards so here is the first one this year lol.  I used an image from the net (sorry cannot remember where from!) I screwed the image and papers up several times and run distress ink over the top to make them look more creased and old. I also distressed the edges with Vintage photo ink to finish them off.  I then used Rock Candy over the image to give it some depth.  The papers are from my stash which is good as it saved my printer ink lol.  The three embellishments were silver snowflakes smothered in distress crackle paint, again Vintage photo with a sprinkling of glamour dust on top.  The sentiment I run up in word.  Not too much to write about this but hey that is okay as it saves your eyesight.

Yet another Xmas prezzie......

Good evening everyone.  I have been in my craft room the best part of the day making up another Xmas prezzie. I am unsure as to who will recieve it but at least it will be another one off of my ever growing list lol.

I bought an old balsa wood chocolate box yesterday from a charity shop for fifty pence.  I used brown acrylic painr, crackle medium and cream acrylic for the basis of the box.  I used wooden beads from my stash for the feet.  Pleased how they worked with the box.  I then painstakingly adhered individual pearls over the top of the box.  Yes I said individual.. no strings of pearls in this lady's stash... unfortunately!  The centre piece came from an old bracelet I found in another charity shop.  I used glossy accents all over the box to give it a sheen.

Well thats quite a short description for a lot of hours crafting lol.

Well that's it from me for tonight.  i am a little crafted out and I need to check whether my challenge blog has been scheduled for the correct time lol....

Am overwhelmed

Had a really long day that started at 3am this morning when I could not get back to sleep so arrived at the office at 6am to start work. Finished work at 3pm and then had to go pay for and pick up 2 cots and mattresses bedding etc etc.  After getting it crammed into the back of my car I had to drive 25 miles to my daughter to get them unloaded by her partner and his friend.  I then made the 30 mile trek home and fell in the door at 7pm.  I trod on my post coming through the door and there it was .. something that made me feel warm and fuzzy with a smile on my face.  I have received a beautiful card from Andria.. one of my Eclectic girlies.  Thank you so much and hope you don't mind me showing blogland.  It has pride of place in my craftroom and will serve as inspiration for a long time to come.

Why not pop on over and visit Andria's blog and leave her some love... such a wonderful lady.
