Beauty is the butterfly

For this card I used some of my gel plate experiments - not so sure I like using it as never seem to get the results I am getting but will not waste them

The butterfly, my fave one is die cut, obviously, and then run through my Paper Discovery embossing folder.  I used Pebeo gilding wax over the bottom and top layer. I used a Tim Holtz stencil which was still hanging around from my mixed media days and of course had forgotten all about it!!! I used scattered straw and salty ocean Distress Oxide inks.

The sentiment stamp I am unsure of it's origin.

Thank you for dropping in to see my card - appreciate it.

Hugz always

With Sympathy

Today I discovered AAA Cards has a challenge for a one layer Sympathy card so had to think real hard for this one.

I used an unbranded stamp for the inside of the card and circle die for the aperture in the front

The sentiment I composed in word and printed directly to the card - after many attempts to get in the place I wanted it to be - Result lots of scrap card lol.

That's it for me right now.  Thank you for dropping by it was great to see you.

Mr Determined

For this I felt like making a snowman card the dies I have used are so darn cute and no I cannot remember where they came from. I coloured him using copics.  Now the reason I call him the struggling snowman is because I have made it really difficult for him by forcing him to skate up the steep hill with tyre shredders on top lol.

Bless his heart he is still smiling - perhaps he thinks he has mistletoe in his hand not realizing it is holly!

The snow embossing folder I have no idea where it came from - useless am I not! I do know the die which dissects the card came from it is Spellbinders which has been kicking about in my craft room for years so I just had to give it a dusting off.

As you can see the post title his name is  ''Mr Determined''

Thank you for popping in and hope you will call again soon

Winter Robin 1

Today I made a card with an embossed Robin on Vellum and stamped tiny snowflakes on the back in white.  The background is a scrap paper from when using gel plate where I rolled the brayer to get clean.  I am so pleased I kept that scrap as was the perfect colour for the background like a dark sky.I die cut the aperture using a tag die.  I tried bakers twine for the tag but it looked too overdone for a CAS card.

This card fits three CAS challenges, Less is more Vellum, Perfectly CAS emboss and Addicted to CAS Bird.

Thank you for dropping by, hope to see you again soon

Mix it Up Smooshing

Hello everyone and welcome to our new September challenge over at Mix it Up

For this challenge the theme is smooshing,  I had fun with this one

The base card and front panel is cream smooth card
I used Victorian Velvet and Hickory Smoke distress oxide ink pads.  The house die I am unsure of it's origin.  I die cut it twice to give dimension.  I placed a scrap of pink card behind it so it shows through the windows.

Sentiment was composed in word

The front panel was adhered to the base card using double sided tape

Thank you coming on over to peek at my blog.  We would love to see you join in with this fun challenge. Remember we all inspire each other so can't wait to see your creations.

Love to Craft

Hello again to you all

It is that time of the month again with a new challenge over at Love to Craft where the theme is always Anything Goes.  I love Anything Goes it gives artistic licence to create.

I decided to play with my dragonfly dies for this one.  I die cut the front panel using the dies.  For the backing and the top diecut wings I used a my shaving foam background from a while back.  Just type in Shaving Foam Technique into youtube. they are so much fun to make.  I think I used food colouring for this one.

The white dragonfly which was cut from the panel I stuck it back into the negative space.  I then cut the top layer from the background
I adhered the front panel to the base card using double sided foam tape.
The sentiment was composed on my laptop and printed.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog.  It would be fantastic if you popped over and join in with this fun challenge.  We would love to see you there - Remember we all gain inspiration from each other.

Look forward to seeing you

Merry Little Christmas 1

Hi all

I just love making Christmas cards - don't you?

Over at Merry Little Christmas the theme is always Anything Christmas goes - who couldn't resist making one or two or three lol.

This card is a simple card well it looks it doesn't it.  It was a little  fiddly but enjoyable to put together and finally got there in the end.

I used cream linen card for this one

The letters are by Alexandra Renke.  Seeing as I put the word joy together I thought I may as well state the first 2 lines of the hymn - this I composed on my laptop and printed, which became the card front .

I used copper mirror card for the edging of the cream letters.  Does kind of make the word POP!

And voila here is my make

Why not head on over to Merry Little Christmas and join in with the fun and a little love to the DT they are so very talented- we would love to see you there - Remember we all gain inspiration from each other.

Voila all done.
